A hydrofluoroolefin compound is represented by the following general formula (I): where R1 is a hydrogen atom or CH, and (iii) R1 is a linear or branched perfluorinated alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms and optionally including one or more catenated heteroatoms; and R2 is a fluorine atom or a linear or branched perfluorinated alkyl group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms and optionally including one or more catenated heteroatoms; with the proviso that when RF2 is a fluorine atom, then RF1 includes at least 2 carbon atoms; or (iv) R1 and R2 are bonded together to form a ring structure having 4 to 8 carbon atoms and optionally including one or more catenated heteroatoms.

A compound is represented by the following general formula (I): (I) wherein each of Rf1 and Rf2 is, independently, F, CF3, C2F5, C3F7, or C4F9, with the proviso that if either of Rf1 and Rf2 is fluorine, then the other is not fluorine; Rf3 is F, CF3, C2F5, C3F7 or CF(CF3)2; Rf4 is F, CF3, C2F5, C3F7 or CF(CF3)2; and Rh is CH3 or C2H5.

The present invention relates to an unsaturated fluorinated ether or amine compound of formula (I) with low global warming potential and method of making the compound (I), where Ris and Rare independently selected from H or CH, wherein when Ris CHthen Ris H and when Ris CH, then Ris H; X is O or N and when X is O, then n is 1 and Ris a linear or branched perfluorinated alkyl group comprising 1-10 carbon atoms and optionally comprising at least one catenated O or N atom; X is N, then n is 2 and (i) each Ris independently selected from a linear or branched perfluorinated alkyl group comprising 1-8 carbon atoms and optionally comprising at least one catenated O or N atom, or (ii) the two R's are bonded together to form a ring structure optionally comprising at least one catenated O or N atom, wherein the ring of the ring structure consists of 5-7 atoms, no more than 10 carbon atoms, and is perfluorinated. The applications of the compound include solvent cleaning, electrolyte solvents or additives, heat transfer, and vapour phase soldering.

Nitrogen and/or oxygen-containing hydrofluoroolefins and methods of making and using the same

Described herein is a cyclic fluorinated compound of formula (I) where: L is O, CH, or a covalent bond; X is selected from F or CF, and Y is selected from H, F, or CF, wherein when X is CFthen Y is F and when Y is CFthen X is F, each Ris independently selected from a linear or branched perfluorinated alkyl group comprising 1-8 carbon atoms and optionally comprising at least one catenated atom selected from O, N, or combinations thereof; or the two Rgroups are bonded together to form a fluorinated ring structure comprising 4-8 carbon atoms and optionally comprising at least one catenated atom selected from O, N, or combinations thereof; the &#x2014;CFZ&#x2014;CHAQ group is bonded to a ring carbon that is alpha to at least one O atom of the ring; A is selected from F, or CF; Z is selected from H, F, or CF; and Q is selected from (i) a F atom, (ii) a Cl atom, (iii) a linear, cyclic, or branched perfluorinated alkyl group comprising 1-8 carbon atoms and optionally comprising at least one catenated atom selected from O, N, or combinations thereof, or (iv) a G(R)group, where G is an O atom or a N atom wherein: when Q is a Cl atom, then Z and A are F atoms; when G is O then e is 1, Z is H, F, or CF; A is F; and Ris a linear or branched perfluorinated alkyl group comprising 1-10 carbon atoms and optionally comprising at least one catenated atom selected from O, N, or combinations thereof; when G is N then e is 2, and each Rgroup is independently a linear or branched perfluorinated alkyl group comprising 1-8 carbon atoms and optionally comprising at least one catenated atom selected from O, N, or combinations thereof or the two Rgroups are bonded together to form a fluorinated ring structure comprising 4-8 carbon atoms and optionally comprising at least one catenated atom selected from O, N, or combinations thereof, with the proviso that when A is CFthen Z is F, and when Z is CFthen A is F.
