A system and method for providing targeted crowd-based acoustic-prosodic and linguistic accommodation includes simultaneously detecting, with a multimedia device, individual facial images of a plurality of individuals and acoustic sounds from the plurality of individuals. Message data representative of an audible message supplied to the plurality of individuals is supplied to the processing system, the message data. In the processing system: a plurality of facial features and a plurality of acoustic-related features are extracted from the multimedia data; the facial features and the acoustic-related features are processed to determine an aggregate emotional state of the plurality of individuals; one or more acoustic-prosodic features of the audible message and/or a content of the audible message are selectively manipulated based on the determined aggregate emotional state of the plurality of individuals to generate an updated audible message; and the updated audible message is output.

An electronic checklist (ECL) system is disclosed. The ECL is configured to: generate an ECL display window, the ECL display window including an checklist information display panel and a checklist item display panel, the checklist information display panel having an annotations area and a virtual pilot area; populate the checklist item display panel with a plurality of checklist items from the ECL, wherein the checklist item display panel is scrollable to display checklist items from the ECL that occur earlier or later than a checklist item that is in focus; automatically populate the annotations area with information relating to a checklist item that is active; and cause the ECL display window to be displayed on the display device.

One method involves identifying a triggering event, identifying a monitoring period associated with the triggering event, monitoring one or more components for user input within the monitoring period associated with the triggering event, and automatically initiating activation of an automated functionality associated with the vehicle in the absence of user input within the monitoring period associated with the triggering event. A system and method for providing real-time feedback of remote collaborative communication includes: processing first audio signals to extract first speech-related features therefrom; processing first EEG signals to extract first brain activity features therefrom; processing second audio signals to extract second speech-related features therefrom; processing second EEG signals to extract second brain activity features therefrom; processing the first and second speech-related features to determine if the speech from the first and second users exhibits positive or negative vocal entrainment; processing the first and second brain activity features to determine if the brain activity of the first and second users is aligned or misaligned; and generating feedback, on at least one display device, that indicates if the speech from the first and second users exhibits positive or negative vocal entrainment and if the brain activity of the first and second users is aligned or misaligned.
