A subgrade vault system with a locking lid assembly is provided. Specifically, a subgrade vault suitable for housing utility and similar equipment is provided, the vault comprising a main body portion, a cap, and a lid that may be selectively secured with one or more rotatable locking mechanisms to prevent or deter unauthorized access to vault contents.

Locking subgrade vault

In various embodiments, lids for an in-ground or subgrade vault is provided. In various embodiments, lids are provided with a plastic reinforcement structure and concrete. The plastic reinforcement structure includes one or more plastic sidewalls that protect the edges of the lid from damage. An internal reinforcement structure comprises receiving members for receiving, securing, and positioning rebar members that are cast in place in a finished product.

Subgrade vault

A nut configured to threadably engage an external thread of a bolt is provided. The nut generally comprises an upper portion that defines a first thread, a lower portion that defines a second thread, and a sidewall portion that connects the upper portion and the lower portion. The upper portion may be separated from the lower portion by a gap, and the sidewall portion may include a first sidewall spaced apart from a second sidewall.

Tamper resistant closure mechanism for a utility vault

A vault system is provided that defines an enclosed volume to protect various electrical, water, communications and other components. The system comprises a lid to allow selective access to the contents in the enclosed volume of the vault. Over time, continued wear and tear on the lid of the vault can cause the lid to deflect inward and/or cause the body of the vault to deflect outward, which compromises the integrity of the vault. Interlock features, methods, and systems are provided transfer stress and strain between the lid and the vault, which maintain the integrity of the selective interconnection between the lid and the vault.

Utility vault interlocking lid seat

A vault system is provided that secures a brace to the underside of a vault lid to improve the performance of the lid when the lid is subject to external loads. The vault has guiding features to receive a brace and place the brace in a particular position. Then, a vault lid is pressed into the vault, and tabs on the vault lid deflect into receiving portions on the ends of the brace to secure the brace to the vault lid. The resulting vault lid is reinforced with a brace. In some embodiments, the guiding feature comprises a rib in a recess in the brace, and in various embodiments, the tabs have an arm and a hook disposed on a distal end of the arm. The tab arms deflect to fit around the end of the brace, then an undercut on the hook secures the brace to the lid.

A signal to warn of the open condition of a sub-grade vault whose lid may be open or missing. A spring-loaded placard is held down in the vault by a closed lid and raises above the opening by its own stored energy when the lid is open or missing.

Inherently deployable warning to alarm of an opening into the top of a sub-grade structure

A subgrade vault to provide an enclosed housing for utility connections. The housing is made of a moldable material with a reinforcing skirt at one end and a seat in the other. A lid is received in the seat to close its upper end. A clip is optionally provided for fastening the lid to the housing body that can be clipped on the body and engaged by a fastener carried by the lid.
