Cold-shrink separable connector

An article of manufacture includes a protective core having at least two end portions, a plurality of support cores, and at least one cold shrinkable material held in an expanded state over at least a portion of the protective core and at least a portion of each support core. One end of each support core interconnected with a corresponding end portion of the protective core. The support cores, the protective core, and the cold shrinkable material are collectively configured to circumferentially surround an apparatus such that the cold shrinkable material compresses over a portion of the apparatus in response to removal of one of the plurality of support cores from the corresponding end portion of the protective core.

An adaptor for controlling electrical stress in an electrical power cable includes a longitudinal insulative member and a semi-conductive member in contacting engagement with an end of the insulative member. A portion of the insulative member overlays a portion of the electrical insulation surrounding the electrical conductor, and a portion of the semi-conductive member overlays a portion of the semi-conductive shield.

Electrical power cable adaptor and method of use

A method for delivering a geometric type stress relief element to a terminated electrical cable is provided. The cable contains a conductor surrounded by at least one coaxial layer of insulator, semiconductor, grounded wires and cable jacket. First, the terminated cable is tapered to expose a portion of the conductor so as to protrude beyond the insulation, which protrudes beyond semiconductor, which protrudes beyond the conductive wires. A geometric stress cone is preloaded onto a cold shrink tube. The terminated, tapered cable is inserted into the cold shrink tube. The cold shrink tube is removed and the geometric stress cone collapses onto the tapered cable. The cable is rated for supplying high voltage.

A die-cut permanent marking article for use with an elongate object, consisting of a strip of low molecular weight heat-sensitive, transparent polymeric film having an upper and a lower surface, at least a portion of the lower surface being capable of self-adherence, at least a portion of the upper surface being imprintable, the polymeric film being fusible by the application of heat, but remaining transparent even after application of heat such that any marking placed on any portion of the article remains readable even if covered by one or more overwrapping portions of the strip.
