Systems, devices, methods, instructions stored on media, and other embodiments for a camera interface are described. One embodiment is a method of providing audio input feedback during content capture using a camera, which can involve initiating capture of a piece of content in response to a capture input touch action received at a camera interface on a touchscreen display of the computing device and then processing data from a microphone of the computing device to identify an audio stream associated with the piece of content. An audio quality score is determined from the audio stream, and a feedback signal is displayed on the touchscreen display of the computing device while the capture input touch action is ongoing and associated with capture of the piece of content.

Embodiments described herein include an expressive icon system to present an animated graphical icon, wherein the animated graphical icon is generated by capture facial tracking data at a client device. In some embodiments, the system may track and capture facial tracking data of a user via a camera associated with a client device (e.g., a front facing camera, or a paired camera), and process the facial tracking data to animate a graphical icon.

Aspects of the present disclosure involve a system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing a program and method for displaying content feeds within a messaging system. The program and method provide for receiving, by a messaging application associated with a user, user input corresponding to a request for a first content feed, the first content feed comprising a first plurality of media content items provided by one or more friends of the user; providing for display of the first content feed; determining, by the messaging application, that display of the first content feed is complete; and providing, in response to determining that display of the first content feed is complete, for display of a second content feed, the second content feed comprising a second plurality of media content items provided by one or more content providers to which the user subscribes with respect to the messaging application.

The collection is configured to cause displaying items in the set of media content items one after another, each for a predetermined period of time. Aspects of the present disclosure involve a system comprising a computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program, method, and user interfaces to facilitate electronic chat conversations between users via multiple modes of electronic communication. A conversation view is displayed on a touch screen display of a client device. The conversation view presents messages exchanged between a first user and at least one other user in an electronic chat conversation. A user input comprising a touch gesture corresponding to an interaction with the display of the conversation view is received. Based on the user input, a camera feed view is displayed on the touch screen display. The camera feed view comprises a display of image data and enables a user to create a message comprising one or more images. A message is generated, and an indication of the message is displayed in the conversation view.

User interfaces to facilitate multiple modes of electronic communication

The technical problem of enhancing the quality of an image captured in low light conditions by a front facing camera is addressed by providing an adaptive front flash system. An adaptive front flash system automatically adjusts configuration parameters of an overlaid view that operates in lieu of a front flash, termed a front flash view. The configuration parameters are adjusted based on characteristics of the output of the digital image sensor of the front facing camera. Examples of configuration parameters of the front flash view include one or more of brightness of the display, color temperature of the front flash view, and transparency of the front flash view.

Disclosed are media attachment systems to enable a user to embed a first media item with a link to a second media item, and distribute the first media item in a message to one or more recipient client devices. For example, the first media item may include a picture or video captured by a user at a client device. The user may generate a message that includes the first media item. In response, a media attachment system may cause display of an interface at the client device that includes an option to attach an address to a second media item to the message. For example, the second media item may include a web page, social media post, picture, or video identified by an address such as a Uniform Resource Locator (URL).
