A remote network management platform manages a managed network. The managed network may contain computing devices for executing applications. The remote network management platform may also include a database storing a graph that represents the computing devices, the applications, and relationships therebetween. A computing device may be configured to generate and provide a graphical user interface that includes: (i) a panel containing an active copy of the graph read from the database, (ii) a first selectable control that creates an editable, private copy of the graph and replaces the active copy of the graph in the panel with the editable, private copy of the graph, and (iii) a second selectable control that updates the active copy of the graph with the editable, private copy of the graph, saves the active copy of the graph as updated to the database, and displays the active copy of the graph as updated.

Distributed editing and versioning for graphical service maps of a managed network

A method of managing alerts in a client instance associated with a configuration management database (CMDB) platform is disclosed. The method includes: receiving a request identifying a particular CI and a particular alert; identifying related CIs from a plurality of CIs associated with the client instance based on the particular CI and the particular alert; identifying alerts, incidents (INTs), changes (CHGs), and problems (PRBs) of the client instance that are associated with either the particular CI or the related CIs; determining frequency data for the alerts, INTs, CHGs, and PRBs associated with the particular CIs and frequency data for the alerts, INTs, CHGs, and PRBs associated with the related CIs; and sending a response that includes the frequency data for the alerts, INTs, CHGs, and PRBs associated with the particular CIs to be presented alongside the frequency data for the alerts, INTs, CHGs, PRBs associated with the related CIs.

System and method for alert insight in configuration management databases (CMDBs)

The present approach relates to querying a configuration item (CI). The CI may be associated with a monitoring agent. In accordance with this approach, a check request is sent to a management, instrumentation, and discovery (MID) server. The check request may be sent to the monitoring agent. Additionally, a check result may be received from the monitoring agent. The check result may have data associated with the CI and the check request.

Systems and methods for enhanced monitoring of a distributed computing system

Systems and methods for processing alerts indicative of conditions of nodes of a computing infrastructure are herein disclosed as comprising, in an implementation, generating a node hierarchy comprising nodes associated with a service model, wherein relationships between the nodes are based on impact rules, identifying alerts related to the node hierarchy, wherein the alerts are indicative of impairments affecting at least a portion of the node hierarchy, and performing impact calculation for nodes of the node hierarchy based on the identified alerts. In an implementation, the impact values may be calculated in parallel for nodes indicated for processing. In an implementation, the nodes associated with the service model represent infrastructure or applicative resources and comprise nodes included in the service model and nodes related to, but not included in, the service model.

System and method for processing alerts indicative of conditions of a computing infrastructure

A system includes a non-transitory memory and one or more hardware processors. The one or more hardware processors are configured to read instructions from the non-transitory memory to perform operations including generating a service mapping illustrating a plurality of tiles, wherein each of the plurality of tiles corresponds to one or more services in an enterprise network and one or more lines extending between the plurality of tiles, wherein the one or more lines correspond to connections between the plurality of services, wherein a first tile of the plurality of tiles corresponds to a first service comprising a plurality of sub-services not depicted in the service mapping, and displaying an alert on the first tile corresponding to the first service when one or more of the plurality of sub-services encounters an error.
