A method for accessing electrical equipment with ASTM Class 00 and Class 0, gloves by a procedure wherein the gloves are periodically removed and put back on to accommodate sweat and heat development. Removal of the tight fitting gloves as well as putting them on is facilitated by the incorporation of a flock lining at those internal surfaces of the gloves which are exposed to important sweat generation. In order to enhance tool manipulation and maneuvering small components such as washers, bolts, nuts and the like, the glove exterior regions of finger tips, fingers and palm (the regions described as the work area of the glove) are made to have a rough surface.

Method for accessing electrical components with gloved hands

An improved device utilizing an inductive undulative EH-accelerator is proposed for acceleration and cooling of plasma fluxes, and beams of charged particles, and separate charged particles; and for forming of neutral molecular beams, and neutron beams (inductive undulative EH-accelerator) is proposed. The device consists of an electromagnetic undulation system, whose driving system for electromagnets, is made in the form of a radio frequency (RF) oscillator operating in the frequency range from about 100 KHz to 10 GHz; which is connected with coils of the undulatve system of electromagnets, and a source of accelerated particles, which is provided in the form of source of plasma or neutral molecular beams, or positive or negative ions, or charged particle beams, or separate charged particles. Other distinguishing features of the device are that at least a part of the cores and magneto-conductors of the electromagnetic undulation system is made from ferrite-type materials, and that the electromagnetic undulation system is used for purposes of acceleration of separate charged particles, or cooling and acceleration of charged particle beams and plasma fluxes. This is a compact system. The invention is related to such uses for which especially the problem of reducing of overall size, weight and cost of a device and increasing of its reliability is required.

Inductional undulative EH-accelerator

An improved protective cover adapted to be suspended on an energized electrical conductor or insulator to protect workmen in the vicinity of the conductor. In one embodiment, the cover is an elongated tubular-shaped member formed by concentrically arranged inner and outer housings maintained in a spaced relationship by a plurality of spacers which provide and maintain an insulating air gap therebetween. A central sleeve is concentrically mounted within the inner housing and together with portions of the inner and outer housings forms a spiral passageway for suspending the cover on a conductor by engagement of the conductor with an inner concave surface of the central sleeve. The inner concave surface of the central sleeve is covered with a conductive material which reduces the strength of the electrical field stress surrounding the energized conductor. The longitudinal sides of the central sleeve are a pair of spaced vertical walls which position the conductor therebetween for suspension engagement with the concave surface of the sleeve. The housings and sleeve have a common longitudinal axis and are formed of a relatively stiff dielectric material. In another embodiment, the cover is formed by a pair of spaced inverted U-shaped dielectric members with the conductive material being provided on an inner concave surface of the inner member.

Protective cover for electrical conductors

A device for immersing and electrically testing an insulating glove in a conductive liquid to determine if the glove is safe for electrical work. The glove is suspended beneath a platform by a pair of insulating barrier rings which clamp the glove cuff therebetween. A hollow electrode extends into the interior of the glove and is connected to a source of water for filling the glove with water. An air sensing tube surrounds the electrode and forms an air passage therebetween and is connected to an air blower and air pressure switch for detecting and deactivating the flow of water into the glove upon it reaching a predetermined level. The inner barrier ring is mounted on a manually movable tube which is telescopically mounted about the air sensing tube and electrode. The platform is movably mounted by an elevator mechanism for immersing the glove in the conductive liquid. The barrier rings reduce the electric field stress and eliminate corona effects on the glove cuff. The glove mounting and filling arrangement eliminates exposed metal parts and reduces accidental flashover by increasing the distance that the electric discharge arc must travel to flashover.
