A pump side part for use with a centrifugal slurry pump for pumping a fluid mixture containing particulate matter, the pump side part comprising a main body having a main axis, the main body including a side wall section which extends laterally with respect to the main axis and has opposite facing first and second sides, a plurality of formations on a surface of the second side including an inner formation and an outer formation in spaced relation to the inner formation, the formations being configured so that in use the formations generate a flow of the fluid mixture across the surface which detaches from the surface the particulate matter adjacent thereto.

Inlet component for a slurry pump

The chamber (A) of the overflow outlet control device (A) has an inner circumferential surface which, when viewed in cross-sectional plan view, is generally in the shape of a volute, for directing material entering the chamber (A) via the circular inlet () at the base portion () tangentially outward towards the discharge outlet (A) located in the side wall (). The top wall region () of the interior wall of the chamber (A), a side wall portion () and base portion () together seamlessly form the chamber (A) which is curved in shape internally. When material flows in use between the inlet () and the discharge outlet (A), and passes through the central chamber (A), it encounters no sharp corners or edges, but just smoothly curved or rounded interior wall surfaces. The top wall region () of the chamber (A) also features a protruding flow control formation () which is joined or formed therewith, and which is arranged to extend into the chamber (A), being directed face towards the inlet () such that in use the flow of material into the chamber (A) via the inlet () directly encounters the formation ().

Hydrocyclone overflow outlet control device

A hydrocyclone () is disclosed which includes an internal conical separation chamber () which extends axially from a first end to a second end of relatively smaller cross-sectional area than the first end. The separation chamber () includes at least one gas inlet device () which comprises a plurality of openings in the form of a series of elongate slits () arranged in a spaced-apart relationship from one another around an interior circumferential wall () of the gas discharge chamber (). In use the slits () are arranged for admission of gas into the separation chamber () at a region located between the first and second ends.
