The object of the invention is an arrangement and a method for controlling underpressure in the drying section of a paper machine or the like in connection with a pocket space between two drying cylinders and one turn roll. The object of the invention is also a runnability component in a paper machine or the like, such as a board or a finishing machine. The runnability component comprises an entry side, a lower part and an exit side, which are in contact with each other and delimit the volume of a box-like runnability component, and a sealing element, which is arranged in connection with the entry side surface and which divides the surface into a first part and a second part. The runnability component is provided with a channel, which extends from the first part of the entry side surface to its second part and connects them.

Runnability component and a method for controlling underpressure in a drying section of a paper machine or the like

The invention relates to an arrangement and a method of a paper machine or the like for saving energy in the drying section. According to the invention, in the drying section of a paper machine or the like in connection with a pocket space () between two drying cylinders () and one turn roll (), there are the following delimiting said pocket space (): a first drying cylinder (), a second drying cylinder (), a turning suction roll () and a wire (), which is arranged to travel from the first drying cylinder () to the turning suction roll () and from there on to the second drying cylinder (). The arrangement further comprises a box-like runnability component () and a sealing element () arranged in the lower part of the runnability component (), in the gap between the runnability component and the turning suction roll () in order to seal said gap and thereby to promote the operation of the turning suction roll ().

Runnability component and a method for saving energy in a drying section of a paper machine or the like

The object of the invention is an arrangement for stabilizing a paper web () in a paper machine, which arrangement comprises at least three cylinders () which have been arranged so that a pocket space is formed between them, a blow box () arranged in the pocket space, which blow box has a blow nozzle (), in which a nozzle slot () has been arranged, a separate wall (), substantially in the direction of the blow box (), which wall has a first edge and a second edge that are substantially parallel, which has been attached from its first edge to the blow box (), whose height in the travelling direction of the paper web () is 25-300% of the height of the blow box () in the travelling direction of the paper web (), in the second edge of which wall there has been arranged a boundary layer air doctor (), which extends substantially unto the surface of the cylinder (), and which wall () has been attached to the blow box () so that the blow box () and the wall () form a space in the area between the opening nip () and the closing nip () following it, into which space an underpressure can be arranged in order to support the paper web () towards the fabric () in the area between said nips ().

Arrangement for stabilizing a web

The invention concerns a method and a device in the dryer section of a paper/board machine. In the dryer section a normal single-wire draw is applied at least partly, in which method the web (W) is passed through the dryer group on support of a drying wire (H). The drying wire (H) presses the web (W) on the drying cylinders (K , K . . . ) against the heated cylinder faces, and on the reversing cylinders or rolls (S , S . . . ) between the drying cylinders ( ) the web (W) remains at the side of the outside curve. There is one integrated device, through which a support suction and/or blowing is produced in order to improve the runability of the web (W) and to keep the web (W) in contact with the face of the wire, and through which same device, additionally, impingement blowing is produced in order to dry the web (W) and/or to control its tendency of curling.

Method and device in the dryer section of a paper/board machine

The invention concerns a blow-suction box or equivalent for a paper machine or board machine, which box comprises at least a pressure chamber and which box is placed in the vicinity of a cylinder, roll, or equivalent, from which cylinder, roll or equivalent, a web and/or a wire is/are fitted to run past the box. In connection with the pressure chamber, a nozzle slot has been arranged, out of which a sealing blowing is fitted to be applied towards the cylinder, roll or equivalent and/or towards the web and/or wire running on its face in order to disintegrate the boundary-layer air flow carried along with the web and/or wire. In connection with the nozzle slot, an air guide made of a resilient material has been fitted in order to direct the sealing blowing and to enhance the sealing further.

Blow-suction box or equivalent for a paper machine or board machine

A method and an apparatus for improving the drying capacity of a hood covering a Yankee cylinder (10), when drying a web with a Yankee cylinder while conveying the web over the cylinder by blowing hot air jets against the web at the region of a first hood (12), said hot air jets having a temperature mainly &lt;550.degree. C. The drying capacity of the drying hood is increased by blowing hot air jets against the web conveyed over the cylinder at the region of a second hood, a so called hot air hood (14, 14', 14'), said hot air jets having a a temperature which is higher than the temperature of the hot air jets blown against the web at the first hood, or mainly &gt;550.degree. C.
