A urine deflector to deflect urine issuing from a seated user, the urine deflector has at least one retaining projection extending from a urine deflector body portion, where the retaining projection is sized and shaped to be positioned and then held in place between a medial aspect of the user's legs and a toilet seat. The deflector body portion is sized and shaped to contain and direct a flow of urine emanating from said user generally downwardly, The urine deflector can be thus held in position between said user and a toilet seat in front of said user's genitals to prevent said flow of urine from escaping beyond said urine deflector in any direction except downwardly. The retaining projections may be flexible, include a living hinge or a hinge pin to facilitate positioning the retaining projection under the legs of a user.

Urine deflector

A tilt lock mechanism for a wheelchair having a tilting seat frame pivotally mounted to a non-tiling base frame. The tilt lock mechanism including a catch release member mounted to the tiling seat frame, the catch release member having a guide surface; and the catch release member having a tilt lock position and a tilt lock release position. A locking tab is mounted to the non-tilting base frame, which is sized and shaped to engage the guide surface when said catch release member is in the tilt lock release position. A plurality of locking slots are formed in the tilting seat frame and the locking tab engages one of the locking slots when the catch release member is in the tilt lock position. As well an actuator is provided for moving the catch release member between the tilt lock position and the tilt lock release position.

Tilt lock mechanism for a tilting wheelchair seat

The present assembly relates to a link assembly for a chair. The assembly includes a frame link for connecting to a frame of the chair and a back support link for connecting to a back support of the chair. The frame link and the back support link are pivotably connected in order to facilitate displacement of the back support according to movement of a back frame of the chair. An adjustable pivot point is located on one of the links for selectively adjusting the extent of displacement of the back support relative to the back frame.

The present assembly relates to a wheel chair having a base frame, a seat frame and a back frame, and a control device for rotating the back frame relative to the seat frame. The back frame includes a back support to receive a trunk portion of a user, the back support being displaceable by another control device relative to the back frame. A control unit communicates with the control devices for rotating and for displacing, the control unit being adjustable to vary the displacement of the back support according to the rotation of the back frame to minimize shear forces between the user's trunk and the back support.
