An agricultural implement frame having at least one beam welded to additional components is formed by cutting the beam into a first tube member and a second tube member having an overlaying portion formed by overlaying ends of the first and second tube members. Each overlaying end has an overlaying wall and a base wall connected by opposing interface side walls. The laser cut forms interface surfaces in the interface side walls. The cut forms a plurality of interlocking load transfer teeth in the interface surfaces. Micro tabs are left uncut in the interface side walls to keep the first and second tube members aligned. The beam is then welded to other components of the implement frame. The micro tabs are broken to separate the first and second tube members so the frame may be folded. When joined, the interface surfaces contact and the interlocking load transfer teeth mesh.

Method for making a tube joint in an agricultural implement frame

A hydraulically-operated implement has a hydraulic system with a hose and a coupler connecting the hose to a mating port on a tractor. A docking station is mounted on the implement receives the coupler on the free end of the hose when disconnected from the tractor. The docking station includes a station body having a coupler receiving portion and a leakage collection portion. The coupler receiving portion has a primary side with at least one circular bore and the leakage collection portion contains a drain opening. A retention device positioned on the inner periphery of each of the circular bores receives the coupler. The drain opening is sealed with a drain plug and the docking station has an inside bulkhead parallel with the primary side of the station body. The bulkhead has a circular hole formed therein aligned with the at least one cylindrical bore in the primary side.

Docking station

A tongue-hitch structure for a pull-type implement may comprise a tongue locking mechanism. A work frame for the pull-type implement may comprise a vertically adjustable rear wheel suspension comprising an actuator for moving the work frame between a lowered, working position and a raised, transport position. The tongue-hitch structure may be adapted to allow vertical movement between the tongue-hitch structure and the work frame. A leveling arrangement may be coupled between the work frame and the hitch-tongue structure operable to prevent and/or allow vertical movement between the tongue-hitch structure and the work frame.

Implement tongue locking mechanism

A tillage machine has an undercarriage that utilizes a triple axle walking beam wheel assembly for each load-supporting wheel assembly of the center section of the machine. Hydraulically powered lift arms are connected with the wheel assemblies to raise and lower the chassis of the machine as the wheel arms are swung downwardly and upwardly relative to the chassis. Each wheel assembly includes a primary walking beam pivoted to the lower end of the wheel arm, and a secondary walking beam pivoted to the rear end of the primary beam. A single front wheel is disposed at the front end of the primary beam, while a pair of wheels are disposed on the secondary beam on opposite fore-and-aft sides of the pivot connection with the primary beam. An abutment on the wheel arm engages a stop on the primary beam upon downward rotation of the wheel arm by a predetermined amount relative to the chassis such that continued downward movement of the wheel arm causes load to shift partially off the front wheel and onto the rear wheels.

Walking beam assembly and lift system for tillage implements

A duplex hinge having two pivot points. In one embodiment, the hinge is used between sections of multi-sectional farm implements to allow flex during field operations as well as folding for road transport. One pivot point is active both when folding and during field operations. The other pivot point is active during field operations but rigid while folding for road transport.

Duplex frame hinge for farm implement

A universal auxiliary implement mount for agricultural implements utilizes spaced, parallel, triangular plate members for attachment and selective positioning on respective tool bars of different main implements. A draw tongue is pivotally attached to one pair of a pair of mounting apertures extending through central portions of the triangular plate members. A biasing rod has one end which is pivotally attached to the draw tongue and extends in an upward angle with the other end thereof received in an apex portion of the triangular plate members. The biasing rod has a spring therewith which selectively exerts downward pressure on the draw tongue while allowing vertical movement over rough ground surfaces. The triangular plate members are selectively positionable longitudinally and rotatably on the tool bar whereby, in one mount position, the draw tongue is pivotally affixed to the mount by one pair of mounting apertures and in another mount position, the draw tongue is pivotally affixed to the mount by a second pair of mounting apertures. The spaced draw tongue mounting apertures permit the mount to be variously positioned on a tool bar while maintaining equal geometric relationships between the triangular plate members, the draw tongue and the biasing rod.

Universal auxiliary implement mount

A mounting apparatus for pivotally connecting a soil working tool to an agricultural tool bar. The mounting apparatus comprises a support bracket fastened to the tool bar by a U-bolt, a tool holding member which wraps around the tool and is pivotally connected at a medial point therealong to a lower end of the support bracket, and a biasing means connected to an upper end of the support bracket and pivotally attached by a connector member to the tool holder member at a position spaced from the connection of the support bracket and tool holder member. The support bracket is a one-piece channel shaped structure and comprises a web, side flanges, an upper connector lug for fastening same to the biasing means, pivotal means for allowing the tool holder member to rotate relative thereto, and stop means for limiting maximum rotation of the tool holder member. The support bracket attaches to the tool bar at cutouts on the outside edge of the flanges opposite the web thereby forming a strong rectangular structure therebetween. The support bracket is formed from a one-piece blank stamped from sheet metal stock.

Field cultivator tool support mounting apparatus

A mounting apparatus for pivotally attaching a cultivator tool to a frame member of mobile farm equipment comprising an upright support bracket, an extension spring, and a tool holder member which is pivoted with respect to the bracket. The tool holder member has a web portion and side flange portions. Near the shank receiving end of the tool holder member the flange portions are folded under the shank to form a shank receiving socket which snugly holds the shank and prevents transverse movement thereof relative to the holder member. The spring is also pivotally attached by a connector member to the holder member. The tool holder member includes a cutout portion in the web thereof such that a pair of rims are formed which extend inwardly from the flanges. The connector member includes a sleeve extending between the flanges and having a pair of external cylindrical surfaces near each end thereof which engage the rims of the tool holder member. The sleeve also includes a central bore which is coaxial with the cylindrical surfaces thereof and which receives a pivot pin secured in coaxial apertures in the side flanges of the tool holder.

Spring loaded field cultivator tool support

An improved farm implement of the sectional tow type including a central section and wing sections hingedly connected to the central section. Each section is mounted on wheels for transport and the sections are comprised of a plurality of hingedly connected frames to allow uniform ground coverage on coarse terrain. The wing sections are connected to the central section for movement therewith between a vertical transport position and a horizontal cultivating position. A spring loaded oscillation restriction mechanism including oppositely loaded leaf springs is provided between each wing section frame and operates to reduce oscillation when towed in the transport position.
