Techniques and arrangements for facilitating synchronization of open ticket functionality utilized by point-of-sale (POS) devices with kitchen display systems. In some example, a POS device associated with a merchant receives customer orders associated with transaction between the merchant and customer(s). The customer orders originate both from user input to the POS device and from an application(s) executing on a separate device. The POS sends the customer orders to a kitchen display system (KDS) associated with the merchant. The KDS aggregates the orders and, responsive to the aggregating, causes presentation of the orders.

Synchronizing open ticket functionality with kitchen display systems

Techniques and arrangements for facilitating synchronization of open ticket functionality utilized by point-of-sale (POS) devices with kitchen display systems. In some example, a POS device receives customer orders associated with a transaction between a merchant and a customer. Based on individual customer orders, the POS device adds information associated with the individual customer orders to an open ticket, and then sends data associated with the open ticket to a kitchen display system. The kitchen display system can receive the data associated with the open ticket, create an order ticket for the individual customer orders using the data, and then provide order tickets using a user interface. In some examples, the kitchen display system then synchronizes with a counter device to provide and update order tickets.

Techniques and arrangements for providing kitchen display interfaces with in flight capabilities. In some examples, a kitchen display system presents, via a kitchen display user interface, a first order ticket associated with a first transaction between a merchant and a first customer and a second order ticket associated with a second transaction between the merchant and a second customer. The kitchen display system can then generate a list of items based at least in part on the first order ticket and the second order ticket. In some examples, the list of items includes items from the first order ticket and the second order ticket that are in an in progress state. After generating the list of items, the kitchen display system presents the list of items via the kitchen display user interface. In some examples, the kitchen display system further sends the list of items to another merchant device.
