Systems and methods for modem control based on feedback are disclosed. In one embodiment, a modem observer module is associated with software within a computing device. The modem observer receives information from the modem relating to uplink bandwidth availability and/or network conditions that may impact uplink bandwidth. Based on the uplink bandwidth availability at the modem, the modem observer may throttle or limit the number of connections that are active by the applications.

Systems and methods for modem control based on feedback

Techniques of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) packet transmission for wireless communication are provided for a user equipment (UE). The UE receives a plurality of TCP packets on a downlink channel from a network. In response, the UE generates a plurality of TCP Acknowledgment (ACK) packets corresponding to the plurality of received TCP packets. The plurality of TCP ACK packets is prioritized based on certain criteria. A TCK ACK packet with a highest priority among the plurality of TCP ACK packets is selected. The selected highest priority TCP ACK packet is then sent to the network on an uplink channel.

Enhanced techniques of TCP ACK transmission in uplink

A system, methods and server for creating and using manifests to support the rendering of a webpage by a computing device. Multiple computing devices may render a webpage and generate meta data. A server may collect and use the meta data to generate a manifest. The manifest may provide information describing priorities and formats for loading the resources of the webpage. The computing device may transmit information to the server for comparison with the manifest and to determine priorities and formats for retrieving the resources of the webpage. The server may request and send the webpage resources to the computing device based on the manifest information, to which the computing device may render the webpage. The server may access the webpage and generate meta data to create the manifest. The server may alternatively send the manifest information to the computing device.

Systems and methods to present video content are disclosed. According to an embodiment, a method of processing video data is disclosed. The method includes receiving timing information associated with the video data. The received timing information is indicative of a start time to start presentation of video content corresponding to the video data. The method includes starting presentation of the video content at a time prior to the start time. The method also includes increasing a presentation rate of the video content.

Video content presentation

A system and method for decoding multimedia video is described. Particularly, a system and method for determining the time of arrival of packets, without a hardware interface, is disclosed. As described herein, the time of arrival for each packet may be derived by extrapolating information from the arrival of a frame boundary and the specifications of the transmission standard. This permits the calculation of drift between the encoder and decoder clocks and consequently the more accurate decoding of the transmission.
