The present invention provides for an exercise apparatus comprising a pair of footplates arranged for reciprocal movement on respective supports, the supports extending outwardly from either side of a central frame portion of the apparatus, the footplates being arranged to receive a pair of human feet and so as to be moved by a user in a reciprocal manner in the direction of the supports as part of an exercise routine, and wherein the apparatus includes handgrip portions extending from the central frame portion of the apparatus, the handgrip portions being arranged for movement, such as for example upward and/or downward movement against a resilient bias during the exercise routine.

The present invention provides for exercise apparatus which can comprise general fitness or self-defense training apparatus having a base member; means arranged to define a first elongate member and a second elongate member extending upwardly therefrom; the first elongate member and the second elongate member being joined at, or by way of a target portion; wherein the base member is weighted relative to the elongate members and the target portion so as to seek to keep the elongate members in a substantially upright position.

The present invention provides for a leg exerciser device offering a pair of footplates arranged for inward and outward reciprocal movement along a respective pair of rails and whereby each of the footplates is operatively connected by way of support arms to a variable number of weights so as to increase the resistance offered by apparatus during an exercise routine. The path of travel of each footplate and the configuration of each arm is such that the vertical distance moved by the weights is greater than the vertical distance moved by each footplate during its reciprocal motion along the rails so as to enhance the degree of work undertaking during an exercise routine.

The invention provides for a hand-held isometric exercise device comprising a handle portion and at least one load cell arranged to receive a load when the device is gripped by the handle portion and urged against the surface, the device having at least one contact portion on the underside thereof for contact with the said surface to transmit the load to the said at least one load cell.
