The present disclosure provides systems and methods for producing a hydrogen storage vessel that is lightweight. The hydrogen storage vessel may comprise an inner body and an outer body structured as concentric rings with a conic interface. The vessel may have four material layers, including a barrier layer, an insulation layer, a fiber knit, and an abrasion layer. The fiber knit may be braided to trap the hydrogen, as the barrier layer may not be completely impermeable. Additionally, the fiber braid may be clamped to the outer body, enabling pressure pushing on the inner body to wedge and seal the storage vessel.

A blade pitch control system includes a plurality of serially stacked swashplate assemblies, each having concentric, ring-shaped inner and outer sections, an associated output pitch link coupled to its outer section and an associated input pitch link coupled to its inner section. The inner and outer sections of each swashplate assembly includes pass through holes to accommodate input pitch links and output pitch links of adjacent ones of the stacked swashplate assemblies. The system also includes a plurality of actuators, each coupled to a respective input pitch link of a respective one of the stacked swashplate assemblies. A central static mast accommodates a rotor drive shaft and the stacked swashplate assemblies are configured to slide axially, parallel to a long axis of the static mast.

A centralized command and control network system for the automated manufacture of a personalized custom-fit garment comprises a centralized control system; automated programmable manufacturing equipment configured for assembling and stitching the personalized custom-fit garment from a digital pattern; and automated programmable material handling equipment configured for transporting the personalized custom-fit garment or its components through each step of the manufacturing equipment. After the customer has had his or her body scanned, and selected and personalized a garment design, the inventive manufacturing system will then manufacture the garment upon receipt of the order in an automated manner without requiring further substantive manual intervention or touch labor. The resultant personalized custom-fit garment is based on the customer's three-dimensional body shape and style and fit preferences. The system can be used to prepare any kind of garments.

System and method for automated manufacturing of custom apparel

In one embodiment, a method for forming a dry lamination for a composite fiber material structure, for example a wind turbine blade, includes cutting at least two plies of composite fiber material according to a predetermined pattern, arranging the at least two cut plies of composite fiber material in a predetermined arrangement relative to each other, stitching the at least two cut plies together using a thread to secure the at least two cut plies in the predetermined arrangement to form the dry lamination, and spooling the dry lamination into a single roll. The dry lamination can then be transported without misaligning the plies and placed into a resin infusion tool without requiring manual placement of individual plies of composite fiber material.

A continuously variable transmission may have a first set of rollers and a second set of rollers that act upon skewed driving and driven surfaces of discs. The input to output ratio of the continuously variable transmission may be changed by pushing either one of the first and second sets of rollers closer to a rotating shaft. To maintain symmetrical loading within the continuously variable transmission, an idler disc assembly may have a strain compensator that deflects to compensate for deflection of outer discs due to elasticity of the main shaft.

A spar of a rotor blade having moderate depth transitions to a relatively much deeper shank over a relatively short distance. This rapid transition enables a low-weight blade root that is structurally efficient, offers a high moment capability, and enables high Mach number axial flow. A transition could advantageously reduce section depth by at least 15%, 20%, 30%, or even 40% over at most 5%, 6%, 10%, or 12% of a total length of the rotor blade. Such a transition could advantageously be accomplished using a cuff, which has interfaces with each of the spar and the shank. The rotor blade shank has a generally circular cross-section which allows for a rotary attachment to a hub, where the attachment may advantageously comprise a mechanical or elastomeric bearing. Preferred embodiments have a spar with a generally rectangular cross-section.

The invention provides an aerial vehicle that can take-off and land vertically, hover for extended periods of time over a fixed spatial point, and operate in confined areas. The aerial vehicle also has the ability to transition between a hover and high speed forward flight.
