A system is provided that dynamically determines a sold-to legal entity associated with an electronic financial document. The system receives a request to generate the electronic financial document and qualifiers including attributes of the electronic financial document. The system further selects a supply chain financial orchestration flow based on programmable business rules and the qualifiers. The system further selects a sold-to legal entity that is defined by the selected supply chain financial orchestration flow. The system further generated the electronic financial document comprising the selected sold-to legal entity.

Tools for configuring an enterprise applications. In one aspect, the tools provide a user interface to allow an implementer describe, based on an interview with executives of the organization, an enterprise structure of an organization, and a data structure generator to configure the enterprise application to reflect this enterprise structure. In one aspect, these tools can allow a general case to guide the default assignment of intersections of legal and managerial reporting structures to a business unit, allowing the minimum number of business units to fulfill both the external and managerial responsibilities. The tools may implement a pivot table approach to provide an interface for the user to provide such input.

Enterprise structure configurator

A system and method for illustrating and interacting with data. An example method includes grouping data according to two or more user-specified dimensions and determining one or more hierarchical relationships between the two or more user-specified dimensions. Plural bands are depicted in a first order based on the one or more intrinsic hierarchical relationships. A first user option enables a user to selectively change the first order to a second order, thereby selectively changing the one or more hierarchical relationships. In an illustrative embodiment, the data includes financial data. The plural bands illustrate only those bands that the user has access permissions or privileges to view. A second user option enables a user to selectively omit one or more of the plural bands while maintaining the one or more hierarchical relationships between remaining displayed bands. Additional user options enable a user to adjust a hierarchical relationship used to depict the plural bands; to trigger tabular view of underlying data, and so on. In a specific embodiment, the bands include concentric bands or rings displayed in a sunburst visualization.

Techniques implementable in an enterprise application or application suite for managing the organizational structure of an enterprise. In one set of embodiments, a single, unified hierarchy can be defined for the organizational structure of an enterprise. The unified hierarchy can include high-level nodes that correspond to entities common to different manifestations of the organizational structure (e.g., reporting structure, cost structure, etc.). The unified hierarchy can also include lower-level nodes that are unique to a particular manifestation. By defining a single, unified hierarchy in this manner, organizational changes in the enterprise can be modeled in the application/application suite by simply updating the unified hierarchy (rather than updating multiple hierarchies). In addition, the unified hierarchy can be used to facilitate security provisioning and reporting.
