The present disclosure describes methods and apparatuses for enhancing emergency communications in a wireless system. Implementations can be realized with an end-user device, a base station, or a combination thereof. Described implementations facilitate the institution of emergency communications with a heightened level of reliability to increase the safety of an end-user that is relying on a wireless connection to make an emergency communication. Example implementations include local transmission priority elevation, automatic audio channel modification, transmission power boosting, end-user interaction control, modulation scheme adjustment, robust category selection, prioritized resource assignment, and so forth. In some aspects, an end-user device includes a transmission data buffer to store emergency communication data having a first priority level and other communication data having a second priority level. A transmission priority elevation module elevates the first priority level above the second priority level based on the first priority level being associated with the emergency communication data.

Aspects of the subject technology relate to displaying of a status of a network device. A performance of a preset sequence of actions can be initiated, where the preset sequence of actions includes a first action. A determination can be made as to whether the first action is performed successfully. Characteristics of the light sources can be set based on the determination of whether the first action is performed successfully.

A computing device includes a memory storing executable instructions, a processor configured to execute the instructions, a programmable display screen configured to display text-based information, and a multi-color indicator. The multi-color indicator is located on a surface of the computing device and includes a plurality of segments, each segment configured to display at least four different colors, where colors displayed by segments of the multi-color indicator are programmable, through execution of the instructions by the processor, to display non-text-based information.

Techniques to manage a mobile device based on network density are described. An apparatus may comprise a mobile computing device having a radio module operative to receive radio signals, a resource detector operative to collect a sample for one or more wireless resources based on the received radio signals, a network density module operative to estimate a network density for an operating environment of the mobile computing device based on the sample and a probability density function, and a parameter management module operative to manage one or more operational parameters of the mobile computing device based on the estimated network density. Systems and methods for managing a wireless connection between a computing device and a peripheral module are provided. In some aspects, a computer-implemented method includes detecting a mechanical coupling between the peripheral module and the computing device. The method also includes identifying a first function of the mechanically coupled peripheral module, and comparing the first function to a preapproved function. The method also includes managing the wireless connection between the peripheral module and the computing device based on the comparison of the first function to the preapproved function.

Systems and methods for managing a wireless connection between a computing device and a peripheral module

A power management unit for improving power efficiency of an electronic device. The power management unit includes a first and a second stage power regulator and a control circuitry. The first stage power regulator includes a switching regulator to efficiently adjust an input voltage based on a feedback signal. The adjusted input voltage provides the second stage power regulator that includes low dropout voltage regulators with an input voltage close to its output. Thus, power dissipation in the second stage is reduced by reducing the voltage differential between the input and desired output voltages. The second stage turns on/off power to units of the electronic device. The control circuitry generates the feedback signal based on dropout voltages of the low dropout voltages, the desired output voltage and the adjusted input voltage. The largest dropout voltage is selected and adds it to the desired output voltage to generate the feedback signal.

Power management efficiency using DC-DC and linear regulators in conjunction

Isolation techniques for multiple co-located radio modules are disclosed. For example, an apparatus may include an antenna, a first transceiver to communicate wirelessly across a first link, a second transceiver to communicate wirelessly across a second link, a shared antenna structure operative to allow the first transceiver and the second transceiver to share the antenna for simultaneous operations, and an active signal canceller operative to generate a cancellation signal to cancel an interference signal for a radio-frequency coupling channel between the first and second transceivers. Techniques for enhanced co-existence for co-located radios are described. A mobile computing device may comprise a first radio module operative to communicate wirelessly across a first link using a first set of communications channels, a second radio module operative to communicate wirelessly across a second link using a second set of communications channels, and a coordination module operative to receive information regarding operation of the first and second radio modules, and modify a communications parameter for the first or second radio module based on the received information. Techniques for enhanced co-existence of co-located radios

In an integrated circuit device, a circuit for maintaining asserted values on an input output pin of the device when a functional block of the device is placed in a sleep mode. The circuit includes an interface for coupling a functional block of a processor to an input and output pin and an output storage element coupled to the interface for storing a current value of the input output pin. The circuit further includes a sleep mode enable for controlling the output storage element to store the current value of the input output pin prior to the functional block being entering a sleep mode and cause the current value of the input output pin to remain asserted after the functional block is in sleep mode. The sleep mode enable is also to deactivate the storage element when the sleep mode is exited.

Integrated circuit device core power down independent of peripheral device operation

A shared antenna architecture for multiple co-located radio modules is disclosed. For example, an apparatus may include an antenna, a first transceiver to communicate wirelessly across a first link, a second transceiver to communicate wirelessly across a second link, and a shared antenna structure communicatively coupled to the first transceiver, the second transceiver and the antenna. The shared antenna structure may comprise a combiner and at least one switch arranged to allow the first transceiver and the second transceiver to share the antenna for simultaneous operations or mutually-exclusive operations. Shared antenna architecture for multiple co-located radio modules

A mobile computing device is described that includes one or more wireless transceivers, a data traffic monitor module operative to monitor one or more wireless communications parameters, and a power management module operative to select a power mode for the mobile computing device based on the one or more wireless communications parameters. In various embodiments, the power mode comprises an extended power save mode wherein the one or more wireless transceivers are disabled during a plurality of consecutive wireless beacon events.
