A vehicle glazing comprising a pane of glazing material having an exposed surface and a light emitting diode device a) other than an auxiliary stop lamp adhesively attached to the exposed surface of the pane of glazing material, or b) in the form of an auxiliary stop lamp adhesively attached to the exposed surface of the pane of glazing material, the lamp comprising a substrate having a functional surface on which a plurality of light emitting diodes is provided, and which is provided with a layer of transparent encapsulant to cover the light emitting diodes is disclosed. A process for the production of such a vehicle glazing comprising applying adhesive to a surface of the vehicle glazing, positioning the light emitting diode device with respect to the pane of glazing material and activating the adhesive is also disclosed.

A laminated vehicle glazing comprising: at least two glazing panes laminated together by at least one interlayer therebetween; at least one sensor which is manually operable by the presence of a user's hand contacting or proximal to at least one of the panes; at least one shield associated with the at least one sensor whereby the at least one sensor is manually operable by the presence of a user's hand from only one side of the vehicle glazing; and at least one connector electrically connected to the at least one sensor connectable to an external device for control of the external device by manual operation of the at least one sensor.

Vehicle glazing

A vehicle glazing comprises a pane of tinted glass, tinted by at least 1.0 to 1.8% wt. of total iron, having a low emissivity coating on its interior surface. The coating has an emissivity from 0.05 to 0.4 and may include a transparent conductive oxide (and optionally a dopant), or a metal layer and at least one dielectric layer. The glass is preferably toughened glass. According to another aspect, a laminated glazing includes two plies of glass, with a sheet of interlayer material laminated between the two glass plies, and wherein at least one ply of glass or the sheet of interlayer material is body tinted. The glazing has a low emissivity coating on its interior surface, the inner ply may be clear glass or tinted glass, and the interlayer material may be clear PVB or tinted PVB, and may further be infra-red reflecting. Either of the glazings may be used as a roof or other vehicle glazing.

Solar control glazing

A laminated vehicle glazing, suitable for use with an optical sensor (for example a LIDAR type sensor), comprises first and second plies of glazing material joined together by a ply of interlayer material between them, and either: a) the first ply is a pane of body-tinted glass having a colorant portion consisting of 0.70 to 1.00% by weight total iron (calculated as FeO), 0 to 1.0% titania and 0 to 2.0% ceria, such that the glazing has a transmittance of at least 30% in the wavelength range 400 to 2100 nm, or b) the first ply of glazing material is a pane of body-tinted glass having a colorant portion consisting of 0.30 to 0.80 by weight total iron (calculated as FeO), 0 to 1.0% titania (calculated as TiO) and 0 to 2.0% ceria (calculated as CeO), and the ply of interlayer material is a solar (IR) absorbing material, such that the glazing has a transmittance of at least 30% in the wavelength range 750 to 1300 nm.

Tinted laminated vehicle glazing

A vehicle glazing comprises a pane of glazing material, an absorptive coating, which absorbs radiation of wavelength greater than 400 nm (and possibly up to 100 &#x3bc;m), on a first surface of the pane, and a low emissivity coating on the first surface, or a second surface, of the pane. The glazing may be used as a roof glazing. The absorptive coating may comprise either a) a metal, metal alloy or material based on a metal alloy, or b) at least one layer of a dielectric material and at least one layer of a metal or metal alloy. The low emissivity coating may comprise either a) a transparent conductive oxide (and optionally a dopant material), or b) at least one metal layer and at least one dielectric layer.

A vehicle glazing is disclosed comprising a pane of tinted glass, tinted by at least 1.0 to 1.8 % wt. of total iron, having a low emissivity coating on its interior surface.
