Disclosed is a device for separating a cellular component from a multicomponent fluid. The device can comprise a body, a first acoustic wave generator, and a second acoustic wave propagating component. The body can define a channel having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. The channel can extend along a longitudinal axis from a first end to a second end. The first acoustic wave generator can be coupled to the first surface. The first acoustic wave generator can be configured to generate an acoustic wave having a wavelength. The second acoustic wave propagating component can be coupled to the second surface. The second surface can be spaced an integer fractional multiple of the wavelength from the first surface and each integer factional multiple equals a number of pressure nodes within the channel.

Cell washing using acoustic waves

Disclosed is a device for separating a cellular component from a multicomponent fluid. The device can include a body, a first acoustic wave generator, and a second acoustic wave propagating component. The body can define a channel having a first surface, an opposing second surface, a first side, and an opposing second side. The channel can extend along a longitudinal axis from a first end to an opposing second end. The first acoustic wave generator can be coupled to the first surface. The second acoustic wave propagating component can be coupled to the second surface. The first acoustic wave generator and second acoustic wave propagating component can be configured to generate a bulk standing acoustic wave in the channel.

A system is disclosed for washing a selected component and removing the selected component from a wash material. The selected component may include red blood cells that are washed to remove a rejuvenating solution. The red blood cells may then be removed with various systems, such as a standing acoustic wave system from the wash solution. Pumps and flow restrictors that provide steady flow from pumps that generate pulsed flow are also disclosed.

The separation channel is positioned between the first and second wave components. Collectively, the wave components generate a standing bulk acoustic wave that isolates cells from the composition.

A clotting serum production device including a main chamber, an inlet housing, and an outlet port. The main chamber is defined by a first end wall, a second end wall opposite to the first end wall, and a side wall extending between the first end wall and the second end wall. The inlet housing extends from the first end wall. The inlet housing includes a first inlet port, a second inlet port, and a first conduit extending between the first inlet port and a second conduit. The second conduit extends between the second inlet port and the main chamber. A coaxial syringe spray assembly that includes a first receptacle defined by the assembly, a second receptacle defined by the assembly and in coaxial alignment with the first receptacle, and a spray tip assembly configured to be in fluid communication with both the first receptacle and the second receptacle. A method for preparing and isolating clotting serum. The method includes adding reagent and a clotting serum source to a reaction chamber of a clotting serum production device that includes an activator. The reagent, clotting serum source and activator are mixed by shaking the serum production device to bring the contents to a foam. The serum production device is placed in either a vacuum or at room temperature for a period of time, and the clotting serum is extracted from the reaction chamber.

Methods are provided for making formed compositions for application to a bone surface of a human or animal subject comprise mixing a demineralized bone and water; heating the mixture to form a carrier; mixing the carrier with bone to form a moldable composition; and molding the moldable composition to produce a formed composition. Several apparatuses are provided in which to hydrate the formed bone composition. Methods of hydrating a formed bone composition are also provided.
