Technologies are described related to communication interfaces for wearable devices. User experience with wearable devices may be enhanced through tailored views for communications, calendar items, actions associated with those, where the views and presentations may be dynamically selected and adjusted based on context, user, location, and device capabilities. Smart notifications and user-friendly note taking functionality may be enabled also based on context, user, location, and device capabilities. Other scenarios may be unlocked based on proximity and/or sensor data.

Communication interface for wearable devices

Restructuring a view of messages based on configurable persistence is provided. An application such as a communication application displays summaries of messages within a summary pane of a messaging user interface (UI). The messages include emails. An action is detected to reorder one of the summaries on a top location of a date section of the summary pane. Reorder options are displayed to identify a reorder time of the summary. A selection of one of the reorder options is detected as the reorder time. The summary is relocated to the top location of the date section of the summary pane to display the first summary at the top location of the date section during the reorder time.

Restructuring view of messages based on configurable persistence

A social insight is provided in an email. A communication application initiates operations to provide the social insight by receiving action(s) performed on the email by a recipient from a tracking service. The tracking service is authorized to track the action(s) and provide the action(s) for analysis. The action(s) are also tracked in real time. A feedback is generated based on the action(s). The feedback is presented to a participant within the email or a conversation associated with the email.

Technologies are described related to communication interfaces for wearable devices. A visualization of computer-enabled information in association with a computer-enabled map is provided. One or more data items may be imported onto a computer-generated mapping surface. A data visualization application may obtain location information, for example, physical address or latitude/longitude coordinates, for each data item. A map showing a geographical area large enough to contain each data item may be automatically generated and displayed, and each data item may be located on the map and may be identified by an identifying icon or label. Selection of an icon or label for any of the data items may cause display of information about the data item. The map display and visualization of the data items on the map display may be dynamically modified as one or more other data items are imported onto the visualization surface or as one or more existing data items are removed from the visualization surface.

Authoring of data visualizations and maps

Technologies are generally described for providing a system to facilitate efficient management and prioritization of conversations, such as emails, in a communication application. Conversations may be prioritized according to user preferences, and an inbox may be rearranged to display important conversations in a user defined order. Conversations may also be associated together so that they may appear together and flow together in the inbox. Additionally, the system may enable a user to delay display of a conversation until a later time based on various criteria such as location, time, and client device. A user may also move important emails to the top of an inbox for prominent display. The system may perform the actions automatically based on observed user behavior. Furthermore, the system may enable touch interactions for interacting with and managing the conversations, and quick controls may be provided for executing commands to perform actions associated with the conversations.

Managing conversations

Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for integrating first class objects with email messages in an email inbox of an email client. In one example, a request is sent via the email client for first class object data to one or more data sources, where each data source of the one or more data sources includes first class object data of a different first class object type. The first class object data may be received at the email client from the one or more data sources. One or more first class objects may be created from the first class object data for injecting into an email inbox of the email client. The email inbox including at least some of the one or more first class objects and a plurality of email messages may be rendered in a user interface to the email client.

Heterogeneous content in email inbox

A rich preview of a communication in a communication summary is provided. A communication application analyzes a communication to identify relevant items within the communication. A communication summary of the communication is created with the relevant items. Next, the communication summary is presented with the relevant items. Interaction elements are also provided to manage a presentation of the relevant items.

Prioritized and categorized presentation of incoming communications is provided based on characteristics of the communications such as sender, recipients, subject, body content, recipient's past interactions, and similar ones. User or administrator defined explicit rules and configurations may be taken into consideration along with analysis results of incoming communication attributes and user history in determining a category and a priority level for the incoming communication. The incoming communication may then be presented according to the determined category and priority level along with tools for the recipient to modify automatic determinations and otherwise interact with the communication.

Prioritized communication inbox

Spatial organization of communications is provided. A communication application initiates operations to present a visual representation of a communication on a two-dimensional canvas after a detected intent to do as such. In response to the intent, the visual representation is generated and displayed on the two-dimensional canvas. A detected interaction with the visual representation triggers a modification of the communication based on the interaction.

Spatially organizing communications

Personalized task management is provided. A 'doodling' zone or pane is provided in association with an electronic task interface that allows for entry of sketches, notes, the playing of games, and the like in association with entry, editing and use of task or list items in the task interface. In addition, task items entered into the task interface may be associated with other information, including previously entered or accomplished tasks, third party task content, enterprise task content, or other content. As tasks are completed, a completing user may be rewarded with a variety of on-display animations, gifts, reward items and/or other positive feedback.

Motivation of task completion and personalization of tasks and lists

Application of content and associated functionality from multiple content sources to an electronic content item is provided. Content from a first document may be displayed over a second document via a user interface component. If desired, such content may be inserted into the second document, and application functionality associated with the inserted content may be retained after it is inserted into the second document. One or more navigation means may be provided for conveniently navigating inside a content item (e.g., a document) for adding new content or for reviewing or editing existing content. In addition, a number of content views and content mappings may be provided.
