A sliding door drive assembly is provided for a vehicle. The assembly includes at least one grooveless drum. The drum has a cable wrap surface and is rotatable to wind cable thereon and unwind cable therefrom. A guide is positioned to be aligned generally with a first axial edge of the cable wrap surface. As cable is wrapped on the drum, the angle of the cable (due to the position of the guide) biases the cable towards the first axial edge, so that successive wraps of cable are snuggly positioned adjacent prior wraps. In another aspect, a cable drum includes a ramp at a second axial edge of the cable wrap surface, which guides the cable radially outwardly to start a second layer of wraps of cable on the first layer of wraps. In another aspect, an absolute position sensor is provided for a powered sliding door.

Drive assembly for power sliding door for vehicle

A moveable control pedal assembly includes a pedal carriage to which a pedal arm is mounted. The pedal carriage can be moved forward and backward via threaded extender rods which engage the pedal carriage to move it along the extender rods when they are rotated. A threaded control rod, extending between the pedal arm and a control device, such as a hydraulic cylinder or control cable, rotates with the extender rods and allows movement of the pedal carriage and pedal arm without altering the mechanical advantage provided by the pedal arm and without altering the lateral positioning of the control rod.

Moveable control pedal assembly

A parking brake assembly for a vehicle has a mounting bracket, a handle assembly and a clutching mechanism. The mounting bracket has a stop. The handle assembly is pivotally mounted on the mounting bracket for rotation about a first axis. The handle is moveable between a brake applied position and a brake release position. The handle has an actuator. A cam is pivotally mounted on the handle about a second axis offset from the first axis. The cam has a cam surface which varies radially from the second axis. The cam is biased to engage the stop. A clutch spring frictionally engages the cam and is operably connected to the actuator. Movement of the actuator in response to manual manipulation responsively moves the clutch spring to decrease the frictional engagement, thereby enabling the cam to engage with the stop. In response to releasing the actuator, the clutch spring moves to increase frictional engagement with the cam thereby retaining the cam in a position to engage the stop and prop the handle in a braking position.

Parking brake assembly having quiet apply

An adjustable pedal assembly for a motor vehicle includes a bracket for mounting the adjustable pedal assembly to the motor vehicle. A pivot link is pivotally mounted to the bracket. The pivot link has a first guide slot and a first pin. A pedal is pivotally secured to the pivot link and includes an arm. The arm has a second guide slot and a second pin. The second guide slot works in conjunction with the first pin whereas the first guide slot works in conjunction with the second guide pin. Together, these pairings define the relative movement between the pivot link and the pedal arm. A drive assembly extends between said first pin and said second pin. The drive assembly slides the pedal arm relative to the pivot link to extend and retract the pedal with respect to the operator.

Adjustable pedal mechanism for a motor vehicle

An accelerator pedal assembly has a mounting bracket and a pedal arm mounted to the bracket for pivotal movement between an idle position and a full throttle position. A biasing mechanism extends between the pedal arm and the bracket for urging the pedal arm to the idle position. A friction disc engages the biasing mechanism for movement therewith. The friction disc is in frictional engagement with a stationary friction plate for relative movement therebetween. Movement of the pedal arm from the idle position towards the full throttle position responsively rotates the friction disc relative to the friction plate and the biasing mechanism responsively increases frictional engagement between the friction disc and the friction plate by urging the friction disc and friction plate together.

Accelerator pedal

A pedal assembly has a mounting bracket for mounting the pedal assembly on a vehicle. A link is pivotally connected to the mounting bracket for movement about a first pivot axis. The link is operably connectable to a control system of the vehicle. A pivot connection mechanism pivotally connects an arm of the pedal to the link for movement about a second pivot axis which is spaced from the first pivot axis. The pivot connection mechanism has a drive operably connected to the arm for effecting articulating movement of the pedal relative to the mounting bracket about the second pivot axis. The pivot connection mechanism has a taumel gear connection between the arm and the link providing continuous engagement therebetween. The pivot connection mechanism is enclosed to protect against dirt and debris.
