A portable endoscopic system comprising an imaging unit for an endoscopic procedure. The imaging unit has an imaging coupler for receiving imaging information from an imaging assembly of an endoscope; a display integrated into a housing of the imaging unit; an image processing unit for processing the received imaging information into images of a time series and to displaying the image in real-time; a motion sensor configured to detect a motion of the housing; and a detection processing unit. The detection processing unit is configured to classify at least one anatomical feature in each image of the time series based on an artificial intelligence classifier; determine a confidence metric of the classification; determine a motion vector based on the detected motion; and display, concurrently with the corresponding image, the classification of the at least one anatomical feature, the determined confidence metric, and the determined motion vector.

Systems, apparatuses, and methods for endoscopy

This disclosure enables various technologies for endoscopy, laparoscopy, and other endoscopic or scopic procedures and methods of manufacture and use thereof. One of such technologies includes a handheld unit and a computing terminal. The handheld unit has a handle, an energy store, a scope, and a first wireless communication interface. The handle has a channel. The energy store has a body and a tower extending radially from the body. The tower hosts a control panel for the scope. The tower extends within the channel when the energy store is assembled with the handle by a user. The computing terminal hosts a second wireless communication interface, where the second wireless communication interface receives an imagery of a cavity captured via the scope powered by the energy store when the scope extends within the cavity as the user holds the handle outside the cavity.

Handheld unit for endoscopy, laparoscopy, and other scopic procedures and methods of manufacture and use thereof

A case or encasement for use with a smartdevice, such as a smartphone or tablet and an endoscope is disclosed. The encasement includes a power supply, logic for controlling wireless communications, a light source, and other accessories, for use with an endoscope. In an embodiment, the encasement includes a power supply that may be used to charge a smartdevice, power a light source and a wireless communications module. Other embodiments include a mechanism for communicating between the smartdevice and the encasement to control the light source and any other accessories coupled to the encasement.

A portable endoscopic inspection system comprises an endoscope having a proximal end with a flanged eyepiece for observation and a distal end with a lens assembly for insertion into a region of interest. A light port transports incident light to the region of interest along an lighting pathway, and reflected light is transported along an imaging pathway from the lens assembly to the eyepiece. A wireless imaging unit comprises a light source which detachably couples to the light port for generating the incident light, and an imaging sensor for recording images of the reflected light from the eyepiece. The wireless imaging unit comprises a variable coupling system which mechanically couples the imaging sensor to the flanged eyepiece independent of the shape and/or size of the flange of the eyepiece.

System and methods for endoscopic imaging

A suture placement device provides a lateral extension element, such as a slotted t-bar or wings, which is inserted into a trocar and deployed to position receptor ports about 1 cm from the trocar. The trocar is removed, and stylet guides are deployed to create a path from the housing to the receptor ports, thereby creating a suture path with segments from the outside of the device to each port, and between ports. A stylet is inserted through the suture path, and used to pull a suture of choice through the path. A stylet guide has a partially extended position to permit precise intra-muscular location of an anesthetic injection before being fully deployed. The t-bar is rotated back to a vertical position to permit removal to of the suture placement device so that the suture can be tied.

Apparatus and method for fascial closure device for laparoscopic trocar port site and surgery

A suture placement device is inserted into an endoscopic trocar port site. A pivot bar with a pair of receptor ports is moved from a folded to an extended position below the fascia. The trocar port is removed over the device as the pivot bar is pulled upward against the fascia. A pair of stylet guides are deployed from two sides of the device housing, and intercept the receptor ports, thereby creating a suture path through the first guide, through a channel in the pivot bar between the receptor ports, and through the second guide. A stylet is directed through the suture path to pull a suture through the path. The guides are refracted, the pivot bar is folded, the device is removed, and the suture is tied. A stylet guide may have a partially deployed position to accurately inject an anesthetic at a desired intra-muscular layer.

The present invention is directed to devices for securely caddying elongated objects, such as cigars, above the ground. Generally, a device in accordance with the present invention includes an elongated shaft, a handle coupled to the top end of the elongated shaft, and a cradle coupled to the middle area of the elongated shaft.

An emergency buoyancy system mounted to a vessel includes a depth sensor to sense a predetermined maximum depth, and an actuator actuated by the depth sensor. The actuator, upon actuation, opens a membrane between tanks, each holding one of a pair of gas producing chemicals. The gas producing chemicals, preferably bicarbonate of soda and vinegar, mix together to produce carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide fills a plurality of balloons, thereby providing buoyancy to the vessel to which the balloons are attached.
