An interactivity system is provided that tracks interactivity between a target entity and participant entities and identifies entities whose interactions satisfy an interactivity criterion. The interactivity system maintains for the target entity interactivity models between the target entity and each participant entity, with each interactivity model modeling the interactions between the target entity and that participant entity. The interactivity system dynamically updates the interactivity models as notification of interactions are received. Upon receiving a query that specifies an interactivity criterion, the interactivity system analyzes the interactivity models to determine whether the interactivity criterion is satisfied. When an interactivity criterion is satisfied, the interactivity system sends a response to the query indicating that the interactivity criterion is satisfied along with the identity of the entity that satisfies the interactivity criterion.

Identifying entities based on interactivity models

When initiating a communication session, a user may be faced with the challenge of deciding which communication mode to use to contact and/or share content with one or more other users intended for participation in the communication session. A communication application may be configured to provide a relevant communication mode selection, the communication application including selection and communication modules. For example, the selection module of the communication application may determine available communication modes in response to detection of a request to initiate a communication session from within an application or from a user experience provided by the communication application. The selection module may remove one or more unused communication modes, and prioritize the remaining available communication modes to select a communication mode. A communication module of the communication application may then automatically initiate the communication session through the selected communication mode.

Relevant communication mode selection

A user may store content in a data store that includes multiple repositories corresponding to one or more categories, where each of the repositories may include one or more containers for content storage. An inference application may be configured to automatically save the content to a location within the one or more containers of the repository. For example, the inference application may be configured to detect content to be saved for a user. The inference application may analyze one or more attributes of the user and the content to infer a repository category to which the content is related, and determine a confidence level associated with the inferred repository category. In response to a determination that the confidence level is above a threshold, the content may be automatically saved to a determined location within one or more containers of a repository corresponding to the inferred repository category.

Context based inference of save location

Aspects of the subject matter described herein relate to analyzing data and providing recommendations regarding computing assets. In aspects, data is collected from computing assets and aggregated in a data repository. A data analyzer analyzes the data to determine problems associated with the computing assets. Work done to identify a problem with one computing asset may be used to identify problems with or provide recommendations for other computing assets controlled by the same or different entities. When a problem is identified in a computing asset, a recommendation may be proactively provided to an entity associated with the computing asset.

Analyzing data and providing recommendations

A metrics generation system provides IT and other computing system metrics from different data sources in a single display. Configuration files containing parameters and instructions are loaded by the system to access different data sources. The metrics generation system retrieves IT system health data, processes and aggregates metrics from the retrieved data and displays the metrics based on user defined parameters and instructions in the configuration files. The metrics generation system is flexible in that it can be changed to extract data from different IT data sources, calculate different metric information having a hierarchy of attribute types and values, and display a variety of metric data in different formats.

Framework for providing metrics from any datasource

The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for creating and using applicable information technology maps. Defined rules that indicate how information technology services interrelate to other computing components in the information technology infrastructure are received. A specified level of detail is selected, from among one or more levels of detail in taxonomy for the information technology infrastructure, for presenting the service map of the information technology service. Ownership for components that are to be presented in the service map is associated with specified responsible entities. The service map is created with the specified level of detail. The service map can then be accessed and utilized to discretely apply a process theory to the information technology infrastructure.
