Systems and methods for providing a breathing gas are provided. In one embodiment, the method includes sensing a sensed parameter associated with delivery of the breathing gas, changing a control parameter associated with a flow/pressure control element in response to a difference between the sensed parameter and a first predetermined sensed parameter value during a first portion of a breathing cycle, determining a transition from the first portion to a second portion of the breathing cycle based at least in part on the changing control parameter, changing the control parameter to cause a first change in the sensed parameter during the second portion of the breathing cycle based at least in part on the determined transition, and changing the control parameter to cause a second change in the sensed parameter during a third portion of the breathing cycle based at least in part on the first predetermined sensed parameter value.

System and method for providing a breathing gas

Breathing mask assemblies that include adjustable forehead supports are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a forehead support is adjustably coupled to a central or main body of the breathing mask. A clamp is configured to lock the position of the forehead support relative to the central body and to lock forehead support at multiple different positions. In one exemplary embodiment, the forehead support may be locked at any position along a path of travel between a first position and a second position.

A nasal mask of the type for delivering gas for example to ease or assist the breathing process includes a shell and a cushion connected with the shell. The shell has a side wall and a retaining ring disposed inside the side wall. The side wall and the retaining ring define a gap extending around the shell. The cushion has a side wall with an outer peripheral edge portion including a tongue extending around the cushion. The tongue of the cushion is received in the gap in the shell to secure the cushion to the shell. Various straps assemblies and forehead adjusters for nasal masks are also shown.

Systems and methods of providing a breathing gas are provided. The method includes, for example, sensing a parameter associated with the delivery of a breathing gas, changing a valve position in response to a change in the sensed parameter, determining a breathing state based on the valve position, and causing a change in the sensed parameter of the breathing gas based on the determined breathing state.

A drive motor assembly for a power driven wheelchair comprises: a stator housing for containing field coils of a stator of the motor assembly; at least one sensor disposed in the stator housing for sensing rotation of the motor; a memory storing motor error parameter data including data of errors of the at least one sensor, the memory being embedded in the stator housing; and a connection for accessing the error parameter data of the memory from the stator housing. The motor error parameter data may be accessed from the embedded memory of the drive motor by a programmed motor controller for use in controlling the drive motor. Also, the motor error parameter data may be embedded in the drive motor by the steps of: controlling the motor through at least one predetermined drive pattern; sensing motor rotation during the drive pattern and generating signals representative thereof; deriving error parameter data of the drive motor from the generated signals; programming a memory with the derived error parameter data; and embedding the memory in the drive motor.

Method and apparatus for embedding motor error parameter data in a drive motor of a power driven wheelchair

A foldable wheelchair includes a cross brace assembly having first and second brace members pivotally secured to one another. First ends of the brace members are clamped to respective side frames of the wheelchair. Second ends of the brace members are removably secured to respective seat rails so that the cross brace assembly can be adjustably positioned forwardly and rearwardly along the side frames and seat rails. This provides for ease of seat depth adjustment that accommodates growth of the wheelchair user without having to purchase additional components.

A wheelchair includes a frame having first and second longitudinal sides connected by a bridge and a seat module carried by the frame. A first power drive assembly is disposed on the frame first longitudinal side. The first power drive assembly includes a first swing arm pivotally secured to the frame, a first motor mounted to the first swing arm and a first wheel operably connected to the first motor. A second power drive assembly is disposed on the frame second longitudinal side. The second power drive assembly includes a second swing arm pivotally secured to the frame, a second motor mounted to the second swing arm and a second wheel operably connected to the second motor. A first resiliently biased anti-tip assembly is secured to both the frame first longitudinal side and the first motor. A second resiliently biased anti-tip assembly is secured to both the frame second longitudinal side and the second motor. A power supply is mounted on the frame for powering the first and second motors.

The present invention is directed to a lightweight wheelchair having adjustable wheel camber, adjustable toe-in/toe-out positions, and front-to-rear adjustment of the wheel assembly relative to the frame. The wheel camber is changed by removable camber tubes having plugs in opposite ends with different angular relationships. The camber tube is removed from an axle tube, rotated through one hundred eighty degrees, and reinserted to change the wheel camber. The location of the angular recesses in the camber plugs addresses minor toe-in/toe-out adjustments while rotation of an axle tube provided with indicia assures that proper toe-in/toe-out adjustment is provided for larger wheel camber adjustments. The front to rear location of the wheels relative to the frame can be adjusted via a single fastener on each side. Moreover, the track width of the rear wheels can be adjusted in response to the change in wheel camber.

A convertible wheelchair permits change over from an attended wheelchair arrangement to a self propelled wheelchair arrangement. The wheelchair accommodates both lateral and longitudinal dimensional changes. Further, the seat can pivot relative to the frame, as well as permitting a seat back to tilt relative to the seat portion. In the attended wheelchair arrangement, the rear wheels are simultaneously locked.

A suspension system for a wheelchair comprises a frame, a pivot bar mounted to the frame through a hinge point, and a seat mounted on the pivot bar. The pivot bar is supported from the frame by a shock absorber and a helical spring so that impacts transferred to the frame through the wheelchair wheels are partially decoupled from the movement of the seat. The movement of the seat is constrained in a single plane along the longitudinal axis of the wheelchair.

The sports wheelchair includes a frame portion (A) having left and right side frame portions. Rear wheel assemblies (B) are connected with the left and right side frame portions such that the rear wheels are connectable to the frame in any one of a plurality of positions and with an adjustable camber. A pair of front wheel assemblies (C) selectively interconnect front wheels with the frame with any one of a plurality of adjustable height, inward-outward, and forward-aft positions. An operator supporting seat (D) having a segmented center portion and an outer portion is selectively interconnected with the left and right side frame portions. A folding mechanism (E) enables the left and right side frame portions to be folded together for easier transportation and storage.
