The thickness of borehole casing can be determined by ultrasound logging in conjunction with simulations of ultrasonic plane-wave echo waveforms across a range of frequencies for a plurality of casing thicknesses and correlation of synthetic frequency spectra derived from the simulated plane-wave echo waveforms for the various casing thicknesses against the frequency spectrum of a measured pulse-echo waveform. In accordance with various embodiments, a portion of the measured pulse-echo waveform that corresponds to the first reflection off the interface between the borehole casing and the borehole fluid is used as a driving pulse to weight the simulated plane-wave echo waveforms in the synthetic frequency spectrum.

Casing thickness estimation by frequency correlation

An exemplary method includes using a pressure supply device (PSD) to actuate a hydraulic customer includes activating, when in the first position, a first gas generator of the multiple gas generators thereby driving the piston to the second position, pressurizing the hydraulic fluid, and discharging the pressurized hydraulic fluid to the customer; actuating the customer in response to receiving the pressurized hydraulic fluid; resetting the piston to first position by transferring a resetting hydraulic fluid into the reservoir; and exhausting gas and condensate from the gas chamber in response to resetting the piston to the first position.

A downhole propulsion system can provide a first traction module; a second traction module; and a controller configured to compare a first input parameter representing operation of the first traction module with a second input parameter representing operation of the second traction module. The controller can adjust a first output parameter of the first traction module and/or a second output parameter of the second traction module based on an input representing slip of the first traction module relative to the second traction module.
