A pouch containing a non-pressurized post-foaming gel, wherein the gel within the pouch is enclosed within an inert atmosphere, such as a nitrogen blanket, which protects the gel and prevents premature foaming and the separation of the gel's components. Upon opening the pouch and discharging the contents, the heat of the user's skin allows a low boiling point hydrocarbon, such as isopentane, to cause the gel to foam, thus providing the consumer with an instant benefit which could include cleansing, moisturizing, increasing shave comfort, wound treatment, etc. Further, the process to produce a gel which is suitable for use in a single use delivery system involves the steps of containing the gel in a jar, spraying the gel with nitrogen to remove the air from the jar, and then swirling the jar to form a non-aerated gel without weight variation problems.

A disposable hollow bulb-shaped applicator has an ointment-permeable soft mesh membrane which covers the bulbous end of the applicator. Resilient walls surround and interconnect both ends of the applicator, and form a chamber for holding ointment therebetween. The applicator has a necked end opposite to the bulbous end which may be attached to a container of ointment. The ointment chamber of the applicator may be filled with ointment by pressurizing the container (e.g. by squeezing) to force ointment from the container into the applicator. A suppository applicator for inserting suppositories into body cavities comprises a tubular body having an open end and a closed end. A plunger is slidably disposed in the tubular body for reciprocal movement between a withdrawn position and an extended position and a combined spring is situated between the plunger and the closed end of the applicator to urge the plunger toward its extended position. The tubular body is formed with a longitudinal slot along its side which has a notch that extends from the slot to engage a latch on the plunger and hold the plunger in its withdrawn position. The open end of the tubular body is shaped to stationarily hold a suppository against the withdrawn plunger until the suppository is to be inserted into the body cavity. When the latch is released, the spring pushes the plunger against the suppository to insert the suppository into its desired placement in the body cavity.

A procedure for preparing a palatable aerosol foam of unpleasant edible oil containing up to 80% oil is disclosed. This has been achieved by incorporating an inorganic complexing agent, water, a sweetening agent, a sensory masking agent and a propellant present in an amount sufficient by itself to function as the whipping agent and propellant into the oil to form a pleasant tasting suspension without an oily mouthfeel, unpalatable taste and unpleasant odor.
