A system and method for implementing M-TIF to integrate one or more non-IP tactical nodes as an integral part of a 5G network includes a tactical translator. The tactical translator provides I/O functionality, message encapsulation, message translation, and IP-to-non-IP address translation. The tactical translator may be interposed between a tactical gateway and a tactical proxy to securely bridge legacy non-IP waveforms with the 5G Core.

Military trusted interworking function to integrate non-IP tactical nodes into a 5G network

A system includes at least a transmitting (Tx) and receiving (Rx) node of a non-terrestrial network (NTN) including one or more non-terrestrial nodes (e.g., operating in earth orbit or extra-terrestrial space). Each node may include a communications interface with antenna elements and a controller, which may include one or more processors and have information of own-node velocity and own-node orientation relative to a common reference frame. Each node may be time synchronized to apply Doppler corrections associated with the node's own motions relative to the common reference frame. Based on the Doppler corrections, each node may determine a relative bearing to the other node. The non-terrestrial node is configured for operation on a non-terrestrial platform (e.g., a satellite in earth orbit), which may be an extra-terrestrial platform operating in spaceflight beyond the earth's atmosphere or in association with a non-Earth solar system object.

If the actual directionality conflicts with the intended directionality, a potential loop is indicated. The artifice is a flag in the link header, link address, or IP address associated with the packet.

System and method for adaptive position-location information exchanges

A communication node of a multi-node communication network is disclosed. The communication node includes a communication interface and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a data packet, via the communication interface, from a first additional communication node, the data packet including a broadcast address indicative of a clustering status of the first additional communication node. The controller is further configured to determine a clustering status of the communication node, the clustering status based on a relationship between a number of gateway nodes and a number of clusterhead nodes communicatively coupled to the communication node. The controller is further configured to transmit the data packet, via the communication interface, to at least a second additional communication node if the determined clustering status is a gateway clustering status or a clusterhead clustering status, the data packet including a broadcast address indicative of the clustering status of the communication node.

Zero-overhead efficient flooding

A method of performing data frame error recovery is disclosed. A data packet is received and tested to determine whether the data packet includes one or more bit errors. The data packet is compared with one or more data packets stored in a recovery buffer to identify a duplicate of the data packet when the data packet includes one or more bit errors. One or more bits affected by the one or more bit errors are identified based on a comparison between the data packet and the duplicate of the data packet. Different combinations of bit values for the one or more bits are determined, and the data packet is tested with the different combinations to identify a correct combination of bit values for the one or more bits. The data packet is recovered based on the correct combination of bit values for the one or more bits.

Data frame error recovery for multi-node systems

Frequency management methods and communication networks utilizing such frequency management methods are disclosed. More specifically, multiple frequency sets may be utilized to facilitate frequency hopping and a frequency management method may implement various switching schemes to switch between the different frequency sets. Techniques such as synchronization and spectrum harvesting may also be provided to support utilization of multiple frequency sets, all of which may provide improved operation reliabilities and better handling of jamming signals.
