Provided are a polarizing plate protective film including a resin and a coloring agent having an absorption maximum wavelength in a range of 560 to 620 nm or 460 to 520 nm in an amount of 0.1 parts by mass or more with respect to 100 parts by mass of the resin, in which a film thickness is 1 to 18 &#x3bc;m, and a moisture content is 0.5% by mass or less, a polarizing plate in which the protective film is used, and a liquid crystal display device in which the polarizing plate is used.

A quantum dot-containing composition includes a quantum dot, a ligand having coordinating groups, which coordinates to the surface of the quantum dots, and the ligand is represented by Formula I. In Formula I, A is an organic group including one or more coordinating groups selected from an amino group, a carboxy group, a mercapto group, a phosphine group, and a phosphine oxide group, Z is an (n+m+l)-valent organic linking group, R is a group including an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, or an alkynyl group each of which may have a substituent, Y is a group having a polymer chain which has a degree of polymerization of 3 or greater and which includes a polyacrylate skeleton or the like. n and m are each independently 1 or greater, l is 0 or greater, and n+m+l is integer 3 or greater. Quantum dot-containing composition, wavelength conversion member, backlight unit, and liquid crystal display device

A phosphor-containing film contains a phosphor such as a quantum dot and is capable of suppressing deterioration of phosphor even where the film is formed into a laminated structure; and a backlight unit including the phosphor-containing film as a wavelength converting member. The film includes: a phosphor-containing layer in which a plurality of fluorescent regions, each of which contains a phosphor that deteriorates through reaction with oxygen when exposed to oxygen, are discretely arranged and a resin layer having impermeability to oxygen is arranged among the plurality of the discretely arranged fluorescent regions; and a first substrate film and a second substrate film, which are respectively laminated on both main surfaces of the phosphor-containing layer, in which the resin layer has a Knoop hardness of 115 N/mmto 285 N/mm, a creep recovery rate of 22% or less, and an elastic recovery rate of 60% or more.

Phosphor-containing film and backlight unit

A phosphor-containing film capable of suppressing deterioration of phosphor and capable of suppressing generation of luminescent spots and the reduction in luminance due to a defect of the resin layer. The film includes: a phosphor-containing layer having a resin layer which has impermeability to oxygen and is provided with a plurality of discretely arranged concave portions, and a plurality of fluorescent regions, each of which is arranged in the concave portion of the resin layer and contains a phosphor that deteriorates through a reaction with oxygen when exposed to oxygen; and a first substrate film and a second substrate film, which are respectively laminated on one main surface and the other main surface of the phosphor-containing layer, in which the fluorescent regions contain a binder and quantum dots serving as the phosphor.

A polymerizable composition provides a high brightness and suppressed decrease in brightness in an outer peripheral region when used in a wavelength conversion member, a wavelength conversion member, a backlight unit, and a liquid crystal display device. The polymerizable composition includes quantum dots having surfaces coordinated with a ligand, a polymerizable compound, and a dispersant, in which the ligand is a molecule that includes a saturated hydrocarbon chain having 6 or more carbon atoms and a coordinating group, a LogP value of the polymerizable compound is 3.0 or lower, the dispersant has a nonpolar and a polar portion in a molecule, and the nonpolar portion is at least one selected from the group consisting of a saturated hydrocarbon chain having 6 or more carbon atoms, an aromatic ring, and a saturated aliphatic ring. The wavelength conversion member, the backlight unit, and the liquid crystal display device include the polymerizable composition.
