Coring tools for procuring core samples from an earth formations may include an inner barrel and an outer barrel located around, and rotatable with respect to, the inner barrel. A coring bit may be affixed to an end of the outer barrel. A sensor module may be rotationally secured to the inner barrel. The sensor module may include at least one sensor configured to measure a dynamic response of the inner barrel during a coring process and a nontransitory memory operatively connected to the at least one sensor, the nontransitory memory configured to store data generated by the at least one sensor.

Reamer for earth-boring applications may include a body having a longitudinal axis and a blade carried by the body. The blade may include at least one cutting element located at a first radial distance from the longitudinal axis and a gage pad located at a second, smaller radial distance from the longitudinal axis. Methods of enlarging pilot holes in earth formations utilizing reamers may involve removing earth material from a sidewall of the pilot hole utilizing at least one cutting element located at a first radial distance from a longitudinal axis of a body of the reamer on a blade of a reamer. The reamer may be stabilized by placing a gage pad located on the blade in sliding contact with a portion of the sidewall of the pilot hole, the gage pad located at a second, smaller radial distance from the longitudinal axis.

A tool for drilling subterranean formations includes a tool body having a face surface, a blade extending radially outward on the face surface toward a gage surface, and a plurality of cutting structures disposed in the blade. Each of the plurality of cutting structures comprises a substantially spherical body of particulate impregnated matrix material. A method of forming the tool includes forming a tool body having the plurality of cutting structures dispersed therein. A method of using the tool includes rotating the earth-boring tool within a wellbore and engaging a formation material of an earth formation with an outer surface of the blade and wearing the outer surface of the blade to expose the spherical cutting structure. After wearing the outer surface of the blade, the method includes engaging the earth formation with the spherical cutting structure.

Earth-boring tools having impregnated cutting structures and methods of forming and using the same

A coring tool may comprise a core bit, and the core bit may comprise at least one cutting structure extending from adjacent an inner bore of the core bit to an outer gage of the core bit. A drill plug may be configured to close the inner bore of the core bit, and the drill plug may comprise at least one cutting structure. An indexing device may be disposed between the drill plug and the core bit. The indexing device may be configured to maintain a predetermined angular relationship between the core bit and the drill plug. The at least one cutting structure of the core bit and the at least one cutting structure of the drill plug may form a substantially continuous cutting structure at the predetermined angular relationship.
