In one example, a server classifies a subnetwork of network devices as performing sub-optimally. The server also classifies a geographic cluster of network devices as performing sub-optimally. The server determines whether a particular sub-optimally performing network device is in both the subnetwork and the geographic cluster. If it is determined that the particular sub-optimally performing network device is in both the subnetwork and the geographic cluster, the server identifies the particular sub-optimally performing network device as performing sub-optimally due to a performance issue with a Wide Area Network to which the particular sub-optimally performing network device belongs.

Determining cause of sub-optimal network device performance

Disclosed are systems, methods, and computer-readable media for determining a distribution of various visiting frequencies among devices/elements detected at a site. A method includes generating a list representing a portion of devices detected at a site over a first time period based on wireless signals transmitted by the devices and received at an access point and determining a visiting frequency for each device represented in the list based on data representing devices previously detected at the site. The method further includes, based on the visiting frequency determined for each device represented in the list, estimating a distribution of each visiting frequency among the devices detected at the site over the first time period to yield a plurality of estimated distributions and storing the plurality of estimated distributions for further processing.

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for determining a change in a state of performance of a given network application. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, at a network controller, a set of measurements for an application; determining, at the controller, a predicted goodput and an application response delay for the application; based on a comparison of each of the predicted goodput and the application response delay to a respective threshold, detecting a transition in state of performance of the application; and communicating the transition in the state of performance of the application to a network monitoring terminal.

A cloud network management device can receive a first set of infrastructure specifications describing a first client networking environment. The cloud network management device can determine a set of recommended configurations for the first client networking environment based on the first set of infrastructure specifications and configurations for one or more client networking environments determined to be similar to the first client networking environment. The cloud network management device can provide the set of recommended configurations to a client device associated with the first client networking environment.
