An embedded light source in a composite panel. A first electrode and a second electrode are associated with a first layer of material. A light source is positioned in electrical communication with the first electrode and the second electrode. An assembly comprising the first layer of material, the first electrode, the second electrode, and the light source is processed to form a multilayer panel with an embedded light source.

Structurally embedded lighting for display panels

An adjustable tie rod includes a first end defined by a screw rod, wherein the screw rod includes a threaded portion, and a second end opposite the first end, wherein an overall length of the adjustable tie rod is defined as a distance between the first end and the second end along a longitudinal axis of the adjustable tie rod. A tie rod shaft extends between and couples the first end and the second end, and a gearbox is fixed with respect to the tie rod shaft. An adjustment actuator is operatively coupled to the gearbox such that selective actuation of the adjustment actuator causes translation of the screw rod along the longitudinal axis and with respect to the gearbox when the first end is prevented from rotating about the longitudinal axis, thereby adjusting the overall length of the adjustable tie rod.

Adjustable tie rods and related methods

A rigid member configured to maintain components in spaced relationship is disclosed. An outer wall portion of the rigid member is arranged substantially concentric about a central axis and a fastener-receiving portion is arranged within the outer wall portion. The fastener-receiving member defines a central bore extending therethrough and oriented substantially concentric about the central axis. A plurality of interconnecting portions extend between the outer wall portion and the fastener-receiving portion.

Provided are flush mountable bottle openers and methods of using such openers to remove bottle caps. These openers may be used in aircraft and other types of vehicles as well as any applications where protrusion away from supporting structures may be undesirable. A flush mountable bottle opener may include a base and a cap leverage plate pivotably coupled to the base. The base may protrude into a supporting structure such that the top edge of the base is substantially flush with the surface of the supporting structure. When the opener is not in use, the cap leverage plate may be closed and be substantially coplanar with the base edge. During operation, the cap leverage plate is brought into its open position directly by a user or using a bottle. The base and plate include engagement surfaces that support a bottle cap while the cap is removed.

A fastening system for joining a first composite sandwich panel and a second composite sandwich panel comprising a cam assembly and a stud receiving assembly. The cam assembly is configured to be positioned within a first hole extending through a thickness of a first composite sandwich panel. The cam assembly comprises a housing and a cam connector rotatable within the housing. The cam connector is configured to engage a head of a stud. The stud receiving assembly is configured to be positioned within a second hole extending through a thickness of a second composite sandwich panel. The stud receiving assembly has internal retaining channels configured to secure a first end of the stud.

Sound damping structures and methods for additively manufacturing composite structures having sound damping properties. In some embodiments, sound damping structures may be manufactured according to methods that may include selecting a desired sound damping geometry, inputting a three-dimensional computer-aided design model of the geometry into an additive manufacturing machine, and additively manufacturing a three-dimensional sound damping structure corresponding to the computer-aided design model.

The assembly also includes a head member affixed to the second rod member wherein the head member is positioned within the enclosure and the head member and the second rod member are moveable relative to the enclosure.

Aircraft passageway storage units are disclosed herein. An example apparatus includes a storage assembly to be supported on a floor of an interior of a fuselage of an aircraft. The storage assembly has a corner to be adjacent a passageway of the interior of the fuselage, and the passageway is to extend around the corner. The example apparatus also includes a door coupled to the storage assembly. The door extends from a first side of the storage assembly to a second side of the storage assembly and defines a portion of the corner. The door is to cover an opening of a compartment of the storage assembly when the door is in a closed position, and the opening is to extend from the first side to the second side.
