A system for assisting in loading an implantable medical device onto a delivery system includes a body having a first end, a second end, and a conduit extending from the first end to the second end. The body has an inner diameter that allows a distal portion of the delivery system to slidably move through the conduit. The body has an outer diameter that allows the body to be inserted into a central lumen of the implantable medical device.

Methods and systems for delivery device insertion during medical device crimp processes

A crimper for altering an implantable medical device from an uncompressed state to a compressed state. The crimper includes a plurality of crimper elements that define a crimper channel, each of the crimper elements including a non-planar surface that forms a portion of the crimper channel. Each non-planar surface is configured to apply non-uniform radial compression along a length of the implantable medical device during operation of the crimper when altering the implantable medical device from the uncompressed state to the compressed state. The crimper also includes handle configured to operate the crimper. Actuation of the handle decreases a volume of the crimper chamber to transition the implantable medical device from the uncompressed state to the compressed state.

Iris-style crimpers for medical devices

Methods and apparatus are disclosed for filling a therapeutic substance or drug within a hollow wire that forms a stent. The stent is placed within a chamber housing a fluid drug formulation. During filling, the chamber is maintained at or near the vapor-liquid equilibrium of the solvent of the fluid drug formulation. To fill the stent, at least a portion of the stent is placed into contact with the fluid drug formulation until a lumenal space defined by the hollow wire is at least partially filled with the fluid drug formulation via capillary action. After filling is complete, the stent is retracted such that the stent is no longer in contact with the fluid drug formulation. The solvent vapor pressure within the chamber is reduced to evaporate a solvent of the fluid drug formulation. A wicking means may control transfer of the fluid drug formulation into the stent.
