Methods and apparatuses for detecting full waste canister and/or fluid flow path blockage conditions are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods and apparatuses for controlling a pump. In some embodiments, flow of fluid can be restricted in a portion of the fluid flow path. A controller can be configured to compare a difference in pressure values upstream and downstream of a fluid flow restrictor to a pressure difference threshold, and determine based on the comparison whether to activate an alarm indicating the full waste canister condition or the fluid flow path blockage condition. The controller can be additionally or alternatively configured to determine a fluid flow using a flow meter, open a selectable valve in response to a comparison of the fluid flow with a fluid flow threshold, determine fluid flow after opening the valve, and determine based on the fluid flow after opening the valve whether to activate the alarm.

Systems and methods for controlling operation of negative pressure wound therapy apparatus

A container assembly for use with a high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) instrument is disclosed, in which the container assembly, when coupled to a source of pressurized gas, provides fluid medium to the HPLC instrument at positive pressure. The container assembly has an external exterior container shell, an internal fluid container for holding fluid medium, an interstitial volume between the external exterior container shell and the internal fluid container, a port for fluidly connecting the volume to a pressurized gas source, and a port for fluidly connecting the internal fluid container to the HPLC instrument. As a pressurized gas in the interstitial volume increases, fluid medium flows out of the port connected to the internal fluid bag and container assembly at a positive pressure. A system incorporating the container assembly, and method of use of the same, are also disclosed.

A dosing pump for a liquid additive in fuel of a heavy fuel engine includes a piston, a cylinder, and a high resolution linear actuator, including a motor driven by a controller, for moving the piston axially in the cylinder. The pump includes a manifold, and a low friction dish-shaped seal having a peripheral portion forming a seal between the cylinder and the manifold in a fully extended position of the piston. The dish-shaped seal includes a top portion attached to the piston that moves with the piston such that the top portion of the seal is compressed against the manifold in the fully extended position. The shape of the seal minimizes non-linearity of the volume dosed as a function of movement of the piston, and the controller drives the motor so as to remove a remaining non-linearity of the volume dosed as a function of movement of the piston.
