An air handling unit (AHU) for a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) system includes a housing and a combustion heater disposed within the housing. The housing includes a combustion section with a first channel and a second channel. The combustion heater includes heat exchanger tubes and a tube support that supports heat exchanger tubes within the combustion section. The tube support slidably disposed in the first channel and the second channel. The combustion heater configured to be slidably removable from the AHU. An AHU for an HVACR system includes a housing with a fan section and a fan assembly disposed within the housing. The fan assembly including a pair of grooves slidably disposed on a pair of rails of the housing. The fan assembly configured to be both slidably removable from the AHU and liftably removable from the AHU.

A centrifugal fan for use as a blower in a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) system has a plurality of blades each having a leading edge camber angle of at or about 10 degrees to at or about 30 degrees, a trailing edge camber angle of at or about 10 degrees to at or about 30 degrees, a stagger angle of at or about 35 degrees to at or about 55 degrees, and a chord having a length L, wherein the length L over the diameter of the centrifugal fan divided by the diameter D satisfies the inequality 0.25&#x2264;L/D&#x2264;0.42. The fan blades having these parameters provide improved fan efficiency at certain operating conditions. The fan blades may further have a forward or radial sweep. The fan blades may have a uniform thickness from the leading edge to the trailing edge.

A blower and method of manufacturing a blower for a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) unit is disclosed. The blower includes a plurality of blower sections. Each section includes a first shroud, a second shroud spaced from the first shroud in a direction of a longitudinal axis of the blower, and a blade. The blade is formed such that a first end of the blade is joined with the first shroud and a second end of the blade is joined with the second shroud. A band is secured to the plurality of blower sections.

This disclosure relates generally to cabinets for commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) systems. More particularly, this disclosure relates to HVACR cabinets including one or more plenum fans located in a fan box. The fan box may be located between an indoor coil and a heat exchanger compartment of an HVACR unit. The fan box may be configured to direct air into a heat exchanger compartment inlet. The fan box may be parallel with or angled with respect to the indoor coil.

A furnace system features baffles, each set of baffles including one or more movable vanes, and systems for controlling the positioning of movable vanes during furnace operation. Actuators may be used to move vanes between deployed and retracted positions, the actuators controlled by units within the furnace or linked to the power sources for furnace elements which are specific to either heating or cooling operations. The movable vanes may alternately be positioned by using springs with stiffness selected to place vanes in a deployed position when under heating airflows and in a retracted position when under cooling airflows.

A furnace is disclosed. The furnace may include an enclosure having a vertical support column formed by a heat exchanger compartment panel and a blower compartment panel. The furnace may include a window assembly having venting openings hidden by a viewing window. The furnace may also include a rail to support a removable heat exchanger system. The furnace may further include a wire retaining fin assembly to retain a wire. A heat exchanger header design including features to retain a sealant is also disclosed.

A condensing gas-fired furnace has a furnace cabinet, a primary heat exchanger, a secondary heat exchanger located upstream relative to the primary heat exchanger with regard to location within a circulation airflow path, a first baffle carried by a first wall of the furnace cabinet, a second baffle carried by a second wall of the furnace cabinet, wherein the second baffle is located opposite the first baffle, and wherein the second wall is located opposite the first wall, and a third baffle carried by a third wall of the furnace cabinet, wherein the third baffle is located adjacent to the first baffle and the second baffle, and wherein the third wall is located adjacent to the first wall and the second wall.

A heat exchanger tube includes a first pass for at least partially combusting a fuel and the first pass having a modified shape including a minor diameter and major diameter that reduces the external pressure drop of an external fluid flowing across the heat exchanger tube. A HVACR system includes a heat exchanger tube with a first heat exchange pass that at least partially combusts a fuel and has a modified shape. A method of making a heat exchanger including configuring a first heat exchange pass such that the major diameter of modified portion of the first heat exchange pass is oriented towards an incoming direction of the process fluid.

A condensing gas-fired furnace has a furnace cabinet, a primary heat exchanger, a secondary heat exchanger located upstream relative to the primary heat exchanger with regard to location within a circulation airflow path, a first baffle carried by a first wall of the furnace cabinet, and a second baffle carried by a second wall of the furnace cabinet, wherein the second baffle is located opposite the first baffle, and wherein the second wall is located opposite the first wall. The first baffle and the second baffle cooperate to form a nozzle within the furnace cabinet. A third baffle and a fourth baffle extend from the bottom of the first baffle and the second baffle, respectively, to the blower deck located adjacent to a secondary heat exchanger.
