Dynamic directory service object creation and certificate management can be performed. In response to discovering a device connected to a network, a corresponding directory service object can be automatically created, and a digital certificate can be automatically acquired and deployed on the device to facilitate authentication. Further, actions can be logged, and notifications generated based on logged actions. Time involved in deploying and configuring directory services is reduced, efficiency is improved, and there is less of a chance for errors associated with manual configuration.

Dynamic object creation and certificate management

Systems and methods that facilitate dynamic directory service object creation and certificate management are discussed. One such method can include discovering a device deployed on a network, creating and deploying a corresponding directory services object, automatically creating and deploying a certificate to the device and updating attributes associated with the device. The disclosed system and method reduce the time involved in deploying and configuring directory services and public key infrastructure (PKI), increase efficiency, improve network availability and lessen the chances for errors associated with manual configuration.

A computing device includes: a processing unit; and memory encoding instructions that, when executed by the processing unit, cause the processing unit to: receive a request from a client computing device; establish a first secured connection to the client computing device; select a server computing device from a plurality of server computing devices to service the request from the client computing device, selection being made based, at least in part, upon load balancing considerations; establish a second secured connection to the server computing device, the second secured connection being separate from the first secured connection; and allow the client computing device to securely communicate with the server computing device through the first and second secured connections.

Creating secure connections between distributed computing devices

A browser cache-securing component facilitates online communication of confidential data, such as for financial information, purchasing transactions, or user identification. Caching webpages for subsequent presentation enhances user productivity and efficiency while reducing burdens on network resources. Yet, the security risks of intrusions into cache memory are mitigated by retaining encrypted data in cache memory without prior decryption. A modest overhead in decrypting when and if the webpage is to be presented again gains a security and privacy advantage without taking away functionality. Decrypted versions of confidential data can thereby be relegated to volatile memory. Upon termination of a session, a session key shared by a network server is deleted, preventing subsequent decryption. Executing the browser cache-securing component in a virtual machine environment allows multiple browser types to benefit from the security feature.
