A locking portion includes an outer peripheral surface and a wing that extends radially outwardly from the outer peripheral surface. The locking portion is connected to the drive portion by a wall. A retaining system includes a lock including a drive portion that defines an axis of rotation, a radial direction, and a circumferential direction, and further includes a locking portion including an outer peripheral surface. A wing extends radially outwardly from the outer peripheral surface, while the locking portion is connected to the drive portion by a wall. A rib extends axially from the wall toward the drive portion forming an annular cavity, defining at least one detent receiving aperture that is disposed in the annular cavity.

A shroud retention system for a work tool is disclosed. The shroud retention system may have an adapter attached to the work tool. The shroud retention system may also have a shroud that slidably engages with the adapter. The shroud may have a retainer slot. Further, the shroud retention system may have a spring assembly disposed in the shroud. The spring assembly may have a block that slidably moves relative to the adapter. The spring assembly may also have a resilient member disposed between the adapter and the block. In addition, the spring assembly may have a retainer disposed in the retainer slot. The retainer may engage with the block. The retainer may have at least one recess disposed on the retainer front face or on the retainer rear face. The recess may extend partway toward the other of the retainer front face or the retainer rear face.

A wear member configured to be attached to a work implement includes a body defining a front working region, a rear mounting region, a first side region connecting the front working region to the rear mounting region, and a second side region connecting the front working region to the rear mounting region. The rear mounting region includes a plurality of mounting pads and defines at least once recess disposed at least partially on at least one of the plurality of the mounting pads.

The axis of rotation is transverse to the direction of assembly of work tool or wear member as the member is slid over a nose portion of a tool adaptor or the like. The axis of rotation is spaced away from the direction the pin receiving thru-hole extends a predetermined distance measured along the direction of assembly.
