An exercise apparatus includes a motor, an operating member driven by the motor, a sensor operable to detect engagement of a user with the operating member, and a controller in communication with the operating member and the sensor. The controller is configured to generate exercise use data when the operating member is driven by the motor. A communication interface is in communication with the controller. In response to the controller determining that the user is engaged with the operating member, the controller is configured to report the exercise use data to the communication interface. In response to the controller determining that the user is not engaged with the operating member, the controller is configured to stop reporting the exercise use data to the communication interface. The communication interface is configured to communicate the reported exercise use data to a third party.

Exercise apparatus with exercise use verification function and verifying method

A motorized treadmill provided for allowing a user to perform a programed workout. The motorized treadmill includes a base, an endless belt movable relative to the base for allowing a user to exercise thereon, a motor coupled to the endless belt for driving the endless belt to rotate, a signal receiver, and a controller in communication with the motor and the signal receiver. The signal receiver is configured to receive a weight training signal when the user performs the programed workout with free weight equipment. The controller is configured to transmit validated exercise use data when the user is engaging the endless belt. When the signal receiver receives the weight training signal from the free weight equipment, the controller will determine that the user is not engaging the endless belt and stops transmitting the validated exercise use data.

An exercise apparatus includes a motor, an operating member driven by the motor, a sensor operable to detect engagement of a user with the operating member, a controller in communication with the operating member and the sensor, and a communication interface in communication with the controller. The controller is configured to generate exercise use data in response to movement of the operating member and the sensor detecting engagement of the user with the operating unit, and the controller transmits the exercise use data to the communication interface.

An exercise instruction apparatus for guiding a user to perform a fitness exercise includes a control unit and a display device. The control unit is configured to control a video imagery displayed by the display device. The video imagery shows an instructor image and a user image simultaneously. The instructor image demonstrates movements of the fitness exercise and the user image presented in a mirror image is a real-time image of the user standing in front of the display device. The control unit is configured to adjust at least one image parameters such as brightness, transparency or contrast of at least one of the instructor image and the user image. The image parameter that is adjusted for the instructor image may be a different parameter than the image parameter that is adjusted for the user image. The instructor image may be overlapped on the user image, and the user can adjust the transparency of at least one of the first image and the second image.

Exercise instruction apparatus

An exercise apparatus includes a base, an operating unit that is movable relative to the base, and a motor that is coupled to the operating unit. The exercise apparatus also includes a sensor that is operable to detect engagement of a user with the operating unit, and a controller that is in communication with the operating unit and the sensor. The controller con generate validated exercise use data in response to the sensor detecting engagement of the user with the operating unit and movement of the operating unit relative to the base.

An exercise apparatus includes a base, an operating unit movable relative to the base, a motor coupled to the operating unit, a sensor operable to detect engagement of a user with the operating unit, and a controller in communication with the operating unit and the sensor. A communication interface is in communication with the controller, wherein the controller is configured to generate a non-validated exercise use data in response to movement of the operating unit relative to the base and the sensor does not detect engagement of the user with the operating unit, wherein the controller is further configured to generate a validated exercise use data in response to movement of the operating unit relative to the base and the sensor does detect engagement of the user with the operating unit, and wherein the controller transmits the validated exercise use data to the communication interface.

A foldable treadmill comprising a base bracket, a deck coupled to the base bracket for moving between a use position and a stored position, a support post extending upwardly and movably coupled to the deck, and a handle pivotally connected to the support post. A handle linkage can be coupled to the handle, and a lifting device can be coupled between the base bracket and the handle linkage for moving the handle when the deck is being moved. In one embodiment, the lifting device includes a support rod coupled to the support post and a deck rod coupled between the base bracket and the support rod. In this embodiment, the support rod has a first portion slidably coupled to the deck and another portion coupled to the handle linkage. The treadmill can further include a control panel movably coupled to the top portion of the support post. Preferably, a link bar is coupled between the control panel and the handle for moving the control panel when the deck is being moved.

Foldable treadmill

A stationary exercise bicycle including a base frame, a seat supporting assembly, a seat assembly being movably mounted on the seat supporting assembly to be guided along a path inclined at a selected angle related to the ground surface. The stationary exercise bicycle further comprises an assistance member attached to the seat assembly for providing an elevation force for a seat position adjustment. The present invention provides a stationary exercise bicycle with a benefit of quick, easy and convenient seat position adjustment, a benefit of grabbing a heart rate grip or touching a control console comfortably, a benefit of reducing abdomen compression of a user, and a benefit of an elevation force for assisting a seat position adjustment.

Stationary exercise bicycle

A treadmill apparatus having a non-motorized tread, a sensor for sensing a parameter indicative of the tread speed, and a controller operatively connected to an angle adjustment mechanism to increase and decrease the angle of the tread. During operation of the treadmill, the controller compares the speed of the tread to a target speed, and based on the comparison, adjust the angle of the tread so that the operator's weight will adjust the speed of the tread.

Disclosed is an exercise machine providing an upper body exerciser portion adapted for use with a lower body exerciser and having a semi-dependent retraction system. The exercise machine generally includes a frame adapted to be mounted on a lower body exerciser (though standalone versions are also disclosed) and the upper body exerciser consisting of first and second user members for pulling by a user to provide pull forces, single retraction means for providing retraction forces to the user members sufficient to retract them back to their start positions after being pulled out, and, non-floating combining means coupled to the single retraction means for making the retraction forces semi-dependent on the pull forces, and thereby reducing travel of the retraction means, by coupling the single retraction means to both user members. Drive and resistance means are further provided.

A dual-function exercise device includes lower body exercise device, a frame, and a movable handle assembly. The movable handle assembly includes two independent pulling devices and a rotary shaft journalled on the frame. Each pulling device includes a pulley disposed rotatably on the frame, a pull cord wound on the pulley, a handgrip fastened to an end of the cord and movable to unwind the cord from the pulley, and a biasing unit for biasing the cord to wind around the pulley when the cord is pulled and is subsequently released.
