A phase change ink composition is disclosed. The phase change ink composition comprises a crystalline component and an amorphous component. At a temperature ranging from about 40&#xb0; C. to about 80&#xb0; C., the phase change ink simultaneously exhibits (i) a static force ranging from about 2 N to about 4.5 N, and (ii) a storage modulus ranging from about 300 MPa to about 700 Mpa. The crystalline component is not a wax. A method of predicting spreading performance of a phase change ink is also disclosed.

Spreadable ink composition and method of predicting whether ink composition will have acceptable spreading performance

Inks comprising amorphous ureas

A photovoltaic device is disclosed. The photovoltaic device includes a substrate, an anode, a cathode, and a semiconducting bilayer. The bilayer is composed of a first continuous sublayer and a second continuous sublayer. The first sublayer includes a first polymorph of a metallophthalocyanine. The second sublayer includes a second polymorph of the same metallophthalocyanine. The complementary absorption profiles of the polymorphs result in a device having greater absorption and efficiency, improving performace of the photovoltaic device.

Photovoltaic device

A photovoltaic device is disclosed. The photovoltaic device includes a substrate, an anode, a cathode, two semiconducting layers, and an electron transporting layer. The first semiconducting layer comprises a first metallophthalocyanine. The second semiconducting layer includes a blend of a second metallophthalocyanine with an electron acceptor. The second semiconducting layer is located between the first semiconducting layer and the electron transporting layer. The first and second metallophthalocyanines have different valences. The complementary absorption profiles of these layers result in a device having greater absorption and efficiency than expected, without the need for a recombination layer or the need to match current between layers.

Phase change inks comprising linear primary alcohols

A lightfast green radiation curable ink including at least one curable monomer, at least one organic gellant, at least one photoinitiator and at least one colorant, where the colorant exhibits a reflectance on a substrate at a loading of from about 2 mg/inchto about 7 mg/inchthat ranges from 50% to about 60% at a wavelength of 500 nm and that ranges from 0% to about 10% at a wavelength of about 600 nm which substantially matches Pantone green.

Green curable ink

A violet radiation curable ink including at least one curable monomer, at least one organic gellant, at least one photoinitiator, and at least one colorant, wherein the ink exhibits a reflectance on a substrate at a loading of from about 2 mg/inchto about 7 mg/inchthat ranges from 50% to about 60% at a wavelength of 500 nm and that ranges from 0% to about 10% at a wavelength of about 600 nm. Also, the violet ink substantially matches PANTONE&#xae; Violet.

In embodiments, the phase change ink composition comprises both a crystalline component and an amorphous component which are derived from bio-renewable materials. The composition provides for a robust, rapid crystallization ink composition.
