Methods and systems are provided for a vehicle including a first motor coupled to a first gear train, a second motor coupled to a second gear train, and a spool lock configured to variably couple the first gear train and the second gear train, allowing a first torque output by the first motor and a second torque output by the second motor to be combined and output to a first wheel coupled to the first gear train or a second wheel coupled to the second gear train.

A park lock unit and method for operation of said unit are provided. In one example, the park lock unit includes a sliding assembly that engages and disengages a parking pawl from a toothed wheel and an electronic actuation assembly configured to engage the parking pawl with the toothed wheel when electric power provided to the electronic actuation assembly drops below a threshold value. The park lock unit further includes a manual release mechanism configured to disengage the parking pawl from the toothed wheel in response to operator input.

Methods and systems are provided for a disconnect assembly in an electric drive unit. In one example, the system includes a dog clutch positioned in a differential, configured to selectively mechanically decouple an electric motor from one or more drive wheels, and including a first interface designed to selectively engage a second interface. In such an example, each of the first interface and the second interface include a plurality of teeth, each tooth in the plurality of teeth includes a drive flank and a coast flank, and the coast flank has a first tooth angle greater than a second tooth angle of the drive flank.

A carrier assembly includes a first portion having a cover flange. A second portion is coupled with the cover flange. A first trunnion is coupled with the first portion, and a second trunnion coupled with the first portion opposite the first trunnion. A first trunnion rib is coupled with the first portion, wherein the first trunnion rib projects outward from the first portion. A second trunnion rib is coupled with the first portion, wherein the second trunnion rib projects outward from the first portion. The first and second trunnion ribs are offset from a trunnion centerline.
