An electric junction box assembly includes a biasing member formed of an electrically conductive material. The biasing member has a first end fixed to a first terminal and a second end spaced apart from a second terminal. An upper cover includes a resilient prong disposed above the second end of the biasing member, wherein a top cover is configured to: (1) press the resilient prong is against the second end of the biasing member to place the first terminal in electric contact with the second terminal; and (2) allow the resilient prong to be free of the second end of the biasing member when the top cover is removed wherein the second end of the biasing member is spaced apart from the other of the first terminal and the second terminal and disconnect power.

An electric junction box to facilitate the supply of power from a battery to an electric device, including an outer case having an open bottom opposite of an open top. A pair of terminals are fixed within the outer case and spaced apart from each other. A top cover is configured to close the open top and a bottom cover is configured to close the open bottom. A fuse cover assembly is disposed within the outer case, the fuse cover assembly including a base having a top surface and a bottom surface opposite of the top surface, a tower disposed on the top surface and configured to hold a spring, and an activation tab disposed on the bottom surface. The bottom cover is configured to engage the activation tab so as to position the spring between the pair of terminals, completing the electrical connection and allowing the flow of power through the electric junction box.

A power distribution box assembly includes a lower cover and a connector assembly. The connector assembly includes a connector housing and a dress cover. A wire bundle is routed from the connector housing through an opening of the lower cover. A retention feature is provided to prevent a cantilevered force generated by a bend in the wire bundle from dislodging the connector assembly out of position with respect to the lower cover.

A junction box assembly includes an upper housing, a lower housing, a connector assembly and a bolt. The upper housing includes a bolt support. The bolt support is a cylindrical member having a top surface and a through hole. The lower housing includes a bottom through hole. The connector assembly further including a threaded bore. A bolt having a threaded end is disposed in the through hole of the upper housing, the bottom through hole of the lower housing and threadedly engaged with the threaded bore of the connector assembly so as to secure the upper housing, lower housing and connector assembly together. The top surface of the cylindrical member includes a plurality of holes, each of the plurality of holes being closed at a bottom end.

A power distribution box assembly configured to assist in a blind installation is provided. The power distribution box includes a rib disposed on a side wall of the power distribution box. A top cover is configured to close the top of the power distribution box. The top cover includes a guide shoulder disposed on a side wall of the top cover. The guide shoulder extends past a bottom edge of the side wall of the top cover and is configured to be seated over the rib of the power distribution box. Accordingly, the guide shoulder and rib engagement provides a tactile response indicating a proper position of the top cover with respect to the power distribution box.

A fuse housing assembly and a fuse kit are provided. The fuse housing assembly and the fuse kit are configured to allow for fuses having terminals of different sizes to be mounted onto a circuit board. The fuse housing assembly and the fuse kit include a spacer configured to protect the exposed portions of the fuse terminals from the environment and prevent the proximal ends of the fuse terminals from breaking the fuse elements. Further, the spacer retains the fuse body of the respective fuses and the fuse terminals in a fixed position relative to each other so as to prevent the fuse terminals from being bent.

A power distribution box includes a bottom cover having a lower surface. Disposed on the lower surface are a pair of axially offset feet. Each of the pair of feet has a first portion and a second portion spaced apart from the lower surface of the bottom cover so as to form an opening having a back wall. The second contact surface is spaced further apart from the lower surface relative to the first contact surface by a ramp portion so as to define the opening to be tapered. The opening is configured to receive a front edge of a bracket. Also disposed on the lower surface is a guide having a first portion that is angled relative to an insertion direction of the power distribution box to a bracket and a linear wall portion configured to slidably engage a side edge of the bracket.

A junction box assembly and a retaining system configured to facilitate access to the eyelet terminal and the bottom housing assembly is provided. The junction box assembly includes a top cover removably attached to the bottom housing assembly. The bottom housing assembly includes an eyelet terminal for receiving an electric connection. An eyelet terminal cover covers the eyelet terminal. The retaining system is configured to removably retain the eyelet terminal cover to the top cover. The retaining system includes a locking structure disposed on the top cover. A key is configured to releasably engage the locking structure. A tether may be secured to the key on a first end and the eyelet terminal cover on a second end so as to allow the eyelet terminal cover to be coupled to the top cover or the eyelet terminal cover to be removed from the top cover.

An electrical connector having a male connector assembly of an insulating material for housing a plurality of pin contacts, and a female connector assembly of an insulating material, for housing a plurality of socket contacts for mating with the pin contacts. A circuit-to-circuit isolation distance is at least twice a connector mating distance, when the male and female connector assemblies are mated. A terminal position assurance cap, insertable from an end of the female connector assembly opposite an insertion face for the male connector assembly enables a maximized circuit-to-circuit isolation distance. The terminal position assurance cap assures that the socket contact is retained in the socket contact chamber, by blocking a flexible integral retention clip against the socket contact. The connector further includes an arrangement for removing the socket contact from the female connector assembly.

An energy storage device for storing energy for starting an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle includes a DC-DC converter, a plurality of capacitors connected electrically to the DC-DC converter, and a housing for containing the DC-DC converter and the capacitors. The DC-DC converter converts a voltage provided by the motor vehicle's battery to a second voltage stored by the capacitors. During an engine start cycle, energy discharges from the capacitors to the starter motor of the engine, wherein the stored voltage of the capacitors provides energy to start the engine. The capacitors are recharged by the vehicle's battery. A thermally insulated barrier separates the DC-DC converter and the capacitors. The housing may be sized and shaped substantially as that of a standard motor vehicle battery, enabling the energy storage device to be installed within the motor vehicle as a substitute for one or more of the vehicle's batteries.

To reduce the force required to assemble connectors, a junction box assembly includes a junction box housing holding one or more first connectors, a connector assembly holding one or more second connectors that mate with the one or more first connectors, and first and second cam levers rotatably mounted to the connector assembly. The first and second cam levers rotate in opposite directions about a common axis and engage the junction box housing, and may engage a common point, such as a pin, on the junction box housing. A detent system may be provided to hold the first and second cam levers in a pre-staged position in which open ends of the cam grooves of the first and second cam levers are aligned, and/or in a fully assembled position.
