A hydraulic system is provided for a hydraulic shifter assembly of a split shaft assembly having a power take off system and utilized on a vehicle that has an automatic transmission and limited access to the transmission&#x2014;preventing a direct connection of a power take off to the transmission. The hydraulic system provides hydraulic pressure from the transmission to the hydraulic shifter assembly and back to the transmission from the hydraulic shifter assembly. The system also provides hydraulic pressure from the transmission to the power take off.

Hydraulic shifter on split shaft PTO for automatic transmission

A system for operating a hydraulically actuated device that is provided on a vehicle includes a power take-off unit that is adapted to be driven by a vehicle and a hydraulic pump that is driven by the power take-off unit. The system also includes an accumulator and a hydraulically actuated device. Lastly, the system includes a controller that causes the hydraulic pump to supply pressurized fluid to the hydraulically actuated device when the vehicle is moving. When the vehicle is not moving, however, the controller causes the accumulator to supply pressurized fluid to the hydraulically actuated device.
