The present disclosure relates to a multi-layered design for an article of apparel such as swimwear. In particular, at least one layer may include a stretch resistant matrix made of a thermoplastic polymer, a silicone or other similar material to provide additional support and modesty to certain areas of the apparel, such as the bust area. Further, a method of manufacturing the article of apparel is also disclosed. According to aspects described herein, the layers may be integrated using techniques to increase the overall integrity of the apparel.

An article of protective equipment includes a one-piece body. The body includes a first region, an edge, and a second region. The first region is formed from a first composite material having a first matrix component and a first reinforcement component. The second region extends between the first region and the edge. The second region is formed from a second composite material having a second matrix material and a second reinforcement component. One of the first reinforcement component and the second reinforcement component has a plurality of first items arranged randomly. The other of the first reinforcement component and the second reinforcement component has a plurality of second items arranged in a predetermined arrangement. The body is configured to protect the wearer from an input load, and the second region is configured to flex under the influence of the input load.

A resilient band for an article of apparel, formed with a first fabric secured to another more resilient fabric. The first and second fabrics are secured together by a plurality of fastening structures extending transversely to a longitudinal length of the resilient band. The first fabric presents a plurality of pleats, where a pleat in the plurality of pleats is defined by an adjacent pair of fastening structures in the plurality of fastening structures.

A thermal energy dissipating garment may include a first garment portion having a perimeter defined by at least a first side and a second garment portion having a perimeter defined by at least a vent side. The first garment portion and the second garment portion are discontinuously affixed to each other at defined intervals along a surface of each portion proximate to the first side and the vent side creating a vent seam having a plurality of ducts/scalloped vents for directing air towards a body of a wearer. The plurality of scalloped vents are oriented with an angle of attack that redirects air from the exterior of the garment to the interior of the garment to increase air movement along a wearer's skin.

A garment constructed of textile panels that provides proper fit across a variety of postures is provided. A plurality of primary textile panels have a first crumplability. At least one secondary textile panel has a second crumplability, the second crumplability being greater than the first crumplability. A plurality of seams joins the plurality of primary textile panels and the at least one secondary textile panel substantially along the edges of the panels to form a garment that when worn by a person in a non-extended posture covers intended portions of the person fully with only the plurality of primary textile panels extended and the at least one secondary textile panel non-extended. When the garment is worn by a person in an extended posture, the garment covers the intended portions of the person fully with both the plurality of primary textile panels and the at least one secondary textile panel extended.

Crumple zone garments providing enhanced fit

A zoned moisture management garment is presented, which provides one-way moisture transport from a wearer's body and zones of different moisture management performance. By incorporating dissolvable yarns, removable by a printable paste, with non-dissolvable yarns of different denier per filament, zoned garments with a denier differential mechanism can be created. The zoned garment optimizes evaporative cooling and wicking zones of a garment based upon a sweat profile and contact profile of the wearer.

An exemplary line holder comprises a sheet having creases that extend between opposing sides and define a plurality of panels. The creases are foldable in alternating opposite directions such that the sheet is foldable along the creases between an open configuration and a pleated configuration. The line holder further comprises aligned groups of holes that are arranged along a direction substantially transverse to the creases, with each aligned group of holes comprising one hole in each of the panels. The line holder further comprises slots, each connecting a pair of the holes and intersecting one of the creases. When the sheet is in the pleated configuration, each aligned group of holes forms a corridor through the panels, and the slots are aligned to form pathways extending from the intersected creases to the corridors, such that medical lines can be inserted into the corridors.

The apparel is an athletic garment formed from textiles for use as a resistance training tool that works by increasing the fluid resistance such as aerodynamic drag or hydrodynamic drag on an athlete in a predetermined event. The athletic garment has a first fabric for covering at least a portion of a first body segment, and a second fabric, different from said first fabric, for covering at least a portion of a second body segment; wherein the second fabric is a turbulence-generating fabric.
