A method of operating a fitness tracking system includes generating movement data corresponding to movement of a user, sampling the generated movement data at a first sampling rate as first sampled data when operating the fitness tracking system in an activity detection mode, and sampling the generated movement data at a second sampling rate as second sampled data when operating the fitness tracking system in a workout mode. The controller further generates a modification signal based on the received reset signal. The memory stores parameter data based on the parameter signal. The shoe includes a sole, a force actuating mechanism, a receiver and a controller. The sole has a top surface for supporting the foot of the user when being worn by the user. The force actuating mechanism provides a force normal to the top surface of the sole and is disposed at the sole so as to provide the force to a plantar venous plexus of the foot. The device includes a communication component, a processing component, a parameter detecting component and a controlling component. The communication component wirelessly communicates with the transceiver. The processing component operates in a first manner. The parameter detecting component detects a first parameter and generates a parameter signal based on the detected first parameter. The controlling component generates a wake-up signal based on the parameter signal. The communication component can further receive the data file based on the wake-up signal. The processing component can further operate in a second manner based on the data file.
