An adjustment assembly for an agricultural planter operable in a travel direction and at a travel velocity and configured to dispense seeds into a furrow formed within an agricultural surface includes a bracket configured to be coupled to a frame of the agricultural planter and a debris cleaner coupled to the bracket and configured to inhibit debris from entering the furrow. A control processor is configured to receive a first signal representing a first velocity of the agricultural planter relative to the agricultural surface, send a second signal to actuate movement of the debris cleaner into a first position based on the first signal, receive a third signal representing a second velocity of the agricultural planter relative to the agricultural surface, and send a fourth signal to actuate movement of the debris cleaner into a second position based on the third signal.

An agricultural machine includes a main frame, an adjustable frame coupled to the main frame and, a row unit which includes a linking arm coupled to the adjustable frame, and an actuator coupled to the main frame and the adjustable frame. Ground following optimization with position control systems and methods

A seed delivery system for use in a seeding or planting machine that removes the seed from a seed meter by capturing the seed therefrom. The delivery system then moves the seed down to a lower discharge point and accelerates the seed horizontally rearward to a speed approximately equal to the forward travel speed of the seeding machine such that the seed, when discharged has a low or zero horizontal velocity relative to the ground. Rolling of the seed in the trench is thus reduced. Furthermore, as the seed only has a short drop from the outlet to the bottom of the seed trench, the seed has little vertical speed to induce bounce. The delivery system uses a brush belt to capture, move and accelerate the seed. By capturing the seed and moving it from the meter to the discharge, the seed is held in place relative to other seeds and the planter row unit. As a result, the seeds are isolated from row unit dynamics thereby maintaining seed spacing.

An agricultural planter is configured to be moved over a supporting surface by a vehicle. The agricultural planter includes a frame and a planter assembly coupled to the frame. A first propulsion assembly is coupled to the frame at a first position with the first propulsion assembly having a first traction member configured to engage the supporting surface. A second propulsion assembly is coupled to the frame at a second position with the second propulsion assembly having a second traction member configured to engage the supporting surface. A drive assembly is operably coupled to at least one of the first or second propulsion assemblies and configured to drive at least one of the first or second traction members during operation of the planter assembly. The first traction member is configured to be driven independently of the second traction member.

A row unit for a work vehicle includes a row unit frame with a closer frame. The closer frame defines a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis. The closer frame is supported for rotational movement about a substantially vertical steering axis to vary a turning angle between the longitudinal axis the vehicle longitudinal axis. The row unit includes a closer implement assembly with first and second closer implements and a walking beam construction. The first and second closer implements are attached to opposite areas of the walking beam construction. The walking beam construction is rotationally attached to the closer frame to support rotation of the closer implement assembly about the transverse axis. The first and second closer implements are configured to move ground material into a ground opening from opposites sides as the work vehicle moves across the field.

A work vehicle includes a frame and a row unit that is attached to the frame. The row unit includes a gauge wheel and a ground engaging implement. The gauge wheel is configured to ride on the ground surface and maintain the ground engaging implement at a predetermined vertical position with respect to the ground surface. Furthermore, the work vehicle includes a ground support unit that supports the frame for movement across the ground surface. The ground support unit includes an outer face. The outer face includes a non-treaded side area that defines a lateral side of the outer face. The outer face includes a tread area that is spaced laterally from the lateral edge. The tread area includes a plurality of projections. The non-treaded side area is aligned along the travel direction with respect to the gauge wheel.

A control system for controlling an implement that is movable between a work mode and a transport mode. The control system includes a source of hydraulic fluid, a first actuator and a second actuator. The first and second actuators are fluidly coupled to the source and disposed parallel to one another. A sensor detects movement of the first and second actuators between their retracted and fully extended positions, and a control valve is disposed in communication with the sensor and in fluid communication with the first and second actuators. As the implement moves to its transport mode, the sensor detects movement of the first and second actuators towards their fully extended positions. The control valve inhibits movement of the first and second actuators before either actuator reaches its fully extended position.

The debris cleaner is movable such that a distance between the leading and trailing edges in the travel direction is adjustable.
