A trisamide compound has the structure of Formula (I) in which R, R, and Rare independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl groups. A polymer composition comprises a trisamide compound of Formula (I) and a polyolefin polymer. The polymer compositions containing a trisamide compound of Formula (I) exhibit very low haze levels and minimal extraction of the trisamide compound.

Trisamide compounds and compositions comprising the same

A composition comprises one or more trimesic acid derivatives of Formula (I) in which R, R, and Rare independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl groups. A polymer composition comprises a composition as described above and a polyolefin polymer. The polymer compositions containing a trimesic acid derivative of Formula (I) exhibit very low haze levels and minimal extraction of the trimesic acid derivative.

A thermoplastic polymer composition comprises a thermoplastic polymer, at least one clarifying agent, and at least one coloring agent. A polymer composition comprises a thermoplastic polymer, a polymer additive selected from the group consisting of nucleating agents, clarifying agents, and combinations thereof, and a fluoropolymer. A molded article comprises at least one wall defining a cavity, the wall having an opening therein permitting access to the cavity. The wall comprises a polymer composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer, a polymer additive selected from the group consisting of nucleating agents, clarifying agents, and combinations thereof, and a fluoropolymer. A method for molding a polymer composition is also provided.

A polyolefin composition comprises a polypropylene polymer, 1,3:2,4-bis-O-[(3,4-dichlorophenyl)methylene]-D-glucitol, and an ester composition or an amide compound.

A method for molding a polymer composition comprises the steps of (a) providing an apparatus comprising a die and a mold cavity, (b) providing a polymer composition, (c) heating the polymer composition to a temperature sufficient to melt the polymer composition, (d) extruding the molten polymer composition through the die to form a parison, (e) capturing the parison in the mold cavity, (f) blowing a pressurized fluid into the parison, (g) allowing the molded article to cool, and (h) removing the molded article from the mold cavity.

Method for molding a polymer composition

An additive composition comprises 1,3:2,4-bis-O-[(3,4-dichlorophenyl)methylene]-D-glucitol and a low amount of residual acid. A polyolefin composition comprises a polyolefin polymer and the additive composition described above.

Clarifying agent composition and polyolefin composition comprising the same

A polyolefin composition comprises (a) a polyolefin polymer; (b) 1,3:2,4-bis-O-[(3,4-dichlorophenyl)methylene]-D-glucitol; and (c) an additional acetal component selected from a recited group.

A polyolefin composition comprises (a) a polypropylene polymer, (b) 1,3:2,4-bis-O-[(3,4-dimethylphenyl)methylene]-D-glucitol, and (c) 1,3:2,4-bis-O-[(3,4-dichlorophenyl)methylene]-D-glucitol. A method for producing a polyolefin composition comprises the steps of (a) providing a polypropylene polymer; (b) providing 1,3:2,4-bis-O-[(3,4-dimethylphenyl)methylene]-D-glucitol; (c) providing 1,3:2,4-bis-O-[(3,4-dichlorophenyl)methylene]-D-glucitol; (d) mixing the 1,3:2,4-bis-O-[(3,4-dimethylphenyl)methylene]-D-glucitol and the 1,3:2,4-bis-O-[(3,4-dichlorophenyl)methylene]-D-glucitol with the polypropylene polymer to produce a mixture; (e) heating the mixture to a temperature equal to or greater than the melting point of the polypropylene polymer; and (f) cooling the heated mixture to a temperature below the melting point of the polypropylene polymer, thereby producing a polyolefin composition.
