In an embodiment, a USB interface includes a transformer, a primary winding of the transformer, and a first switch in series between a first and a second node, a secondary winding of the transformer and a component in series between a third and a fourth node, the fourth node configured to be set a first reference potential, a second switch connected between the third node and a first terminal, the first terminal configured to provide an output voltage of the USB interface; wherein the component is configured to avoid a current circulation in the secondary winding when the first switch is closed and a control circuit configured to compare a first voltage of an interconnection node between the secondary winding and the component to a first threshold and compare the first voltage to a second threshold when the first voltage is, in absolute values, above the first threshold.

The present disclosure relates to an USB PD-type interface including a first node receiving a first potential, a second node delivering a second potential, and a third node at a reference potential; a resistor connected between a fourth node coupled to the first node, and a fifth node; a MOS transistor connected between the fifth node and the second node; a bipolar transistor having a collector connected to a gate of the MOS transistor and an emitter connected to the fourth node or to the fifth node; and a circuit configured to deliver a control potential to a base of the bipolar transistor determined from a current in the first resistor.

The present invention generally relates to the management of a configuration of a first device. The first device includes a control unit and an interface unit managing a communication interface. The communication interface comprises at least one resistive line having a resistance value. The resistance value allows the interface unit to identify a configuration for at least one second device adapted to be linked to the first device via the communication interface. The interface unit: /a/ detects a change of the resistance value on the resistive line corresponding to a configuration of said second device; /b/ processes said change of the resistance value to adapt the configuration of the first device according to the configuration of said second device.

A change is managed in the attachment state between a first device and a second device which are connected via an interface. The first device comprises a high frequency clock. The first device is in a sleep state in which the high frequency clock is deactivated. A detection of a change in the attachment state of the second device is periodically triggered on said interface, on the basis of a low frequency clock. Upon detection of a change in the attachment state, the sleep mode is exited by activating the high frequency clock.

Detection of USB attachment

A host device is managed that communicates with a peripheral device via an interface on the basis of a high frequency clock; the host device is in a suspended state in which the high frequency clock is deactivated. At the host device, an activation state of the peripheral device is detected () on the interface. Then the duration of a period of time (T) since the detection of the activation state is counted, on the basis of a low frequency clock. Then this activation state is maintained on the interface () by means of hardware before the period of time expires.
