A computer-implemented method for processing a geo-location of an aerial platform, comprises: (a) providing a set of classification stages, which is trained end-to-end to provide a set of cascade decisions, wherein each cascade decision is optimized for a different classification modality and for different spatial resolution; (b) receiving a geo-location query comprising an aerial sensor image, a reference bird's eye view image-map with coordinate system and sensor pose angles measures with respect to the coordinate system; (c) projecting the aerial sensor image onto the coordinate system of the reference image-map using the pose angles measures; (d) matching between the projected sensor image and corresponding image patches in the reference satellite image-map, by applying said set of classification stages in accordance with features extraction from said images and similarity criteria; (e) generating a cascade sequencing, wherein a classification score is aggregated along a cascade path among said set of cascade stages; (f) generating a cascade decision at each stage along the cascade path based on the aggregated classification score and on defined decision logic between successive stages; (g) retrieving a geo-location associated with said aggregated classification decision; and (h) sending the retrieved geo-location to a geo-location requester.

System and method for visual localization

An identification system includes one or more infrared light sources and a camera that acquires images of a user's palm. For example, at a first time, one or more first images may be acquired by the camera using infrared light with a first polarization that represent external characteristics of the user's palm. At a second time, one or more second images may be acquired using infrared light with a second polarization that represent internal characteristics of the user's palm. These images are processed to determine a first set of feature vectors and a second set of feature vectors. A current signature may be determined using the first set of feature vectors and the second set of feature vectors. In addition, a user may be identified based on a comparison of the current signature and previously stored reference signatures that are associated with candidate user identifiers.

User identification system using infrared images of palm characteristics

A non-contact biometric identification system includes a hand scanner that generates images of a user's palm. Images are acquired using light of a first polarization at a first time that show surface characteristics such as wrinkles in the palm while images acquired using light of a second polarization at a second time show deeper characteristics such as veins. Within the images, the palm is identified and subdivided into sub-images. The sub-images are subsequently processed to determine feature vectors present in each sub-image. A current signature is determined using the feature vectors. A user may be identified based on a comparison of the current signature with a previously stored reference signature that is associated with a user identifier.

Non-contact biometric identification system

Integrating external on-demand services is performed through embedding a pseudo on-demand video-title for each new on-demand external service, which is activated by an original session manager (SM) once a particular set-top converter box (STB), which belongs to a particular group_id, initiates a request for the external service. An STB application intercepts SM tuning information on the selected transport_id and service_id of the pseudo service and recovers the address of the selected edge device and QAM in the original system, associated with the intercepted transport_id, through the inverse mapping the couple (group_id, transport_id) to the edge and QAM IP and UDP port addresses which map is set by external management system. The STB application initiates the external on-demand service with same edge and QAM but with a different unique external_service_id , through streaming of the external service to the recovered edge IP address and to a new UDP port number where the new UDP port number encodes the original QAM address with the new unique external_service_id number of the external service, and tunes to the new external_service_id.

Exemplary embodiments include an interception mechanism for rendering commands generated by interactive applications, and a feed-forward control mechanism based on the processing of the commands on a rendering engine, on a pre-filtering module, and on a visual encoder. Also a feed-back control mechanism from the encoder is described. The mechanism is compression-quality optimized subject to some constraints on streaming bandwidth and system delay. The mechanisms allow controllable levels of detail for different rendered objects, controllable post filtering of rendered images, and controllable compression quality of each object in compressed images.
