TV software can be updated by receiving updated from a USB drive or wirelessly, in either case preferably over a synchronous bus for speedier data transfer.

Synchronous bus download of TV software update

An audio video display device (AVDD) includes a processor and a touch screen video display. The AVDD also includes a computer readable storage medium bearing instructions executable by the processor to present at least one image of a remote control (RC) on the display. Accordingly, responsive to a first user command, the processor presents an image of a full RC on the display. Responsive to a second user command, the processor presents an image of a direction-only RC on the display that permits a user only to enter direction commands and an 'enter' command.

A shopper inputs a 3D image of himself to a computer which normalizes the image to a standard. The shopper can select an article of clothing from a web site and the image of the article is normalized to the shopper's image using the same normalization standard and superimposed onto the shopper's image. The manufacturer's size corresponding to the correct article size may also be displayed.
