A power supply may include an AC to DC converter coupled to an AC power source to generate a DC power output, an AC port(s) to supply AC power to a respective AC load(s), an AC relay(s) coupling a respective AC port(s) to the AC power source, a DC port(s) to supply DC power to a respective DC load(s), a DC to DC converter(s) coupling the DC power output to the DC port(s), a battery(ies) coupled to the DC power output, and an ethernet port(s) to provide wired network connectivity. A controller may be configured to switch the DC port(s) between the DC power output and the battery(ies) responsive to AC power source outages, cause the AC relay(s) to cycle AC power to the AC port(s) and respective AC load(s), and cause the DC to DC converter(s) to cycle power to the DC port(s) and respective DC load(s).

Multiport power management system with battery and connectivity backup capabilities and related methods

A battery monitoring system is for a battery string(s) at a geographical location, where the battery string(s) includes a plurality of series-connected batteries. The system may include wireless battery monitors each associated with a respective battery, a wireless string monitor associated with the battery string(s), and a wireless access point for communicating with the wireless battery monitors and the wireless string monitor at the location. A battery monitoring cloud server may communicate with the at least one access point via a wide area network (WAN) to remotely determine a configuration of the batteries within the battery strings based upon the wireless battery monitors and the wireless string monitor, remotely collect diagnostic measurement data for the batteries from the wireless battery monitors and the wireless string monitors, and remotely process the collected diagnostic measurement data based upon the determined configuration of the batteries to determine fault conditions and generate alerts accordingly.

Distributed cloud based battery monitoring system

A DC UPS may include a battery power source, an AC-DC converter configured to convert a grid AC power signal to a first DC power signal, and a first switch coupled downstream from the AC-DC converter. The DC UPS may include a second switch coupled between the first switch and a battery power source, and a DC-DC converter coupled to the first switch and configured to convert the battery DC power signal or the first DC power signal to a second DC power signal. The DC UPS may include first DC outputs coupled to the first switch and configured to provide the battery DC power signal or the first DC power signal to corresponding first loads, second DC outputs coupled downstream from the DC-DC converter and configured to provide the second DC power signal to corresponding second loads, and a controller.

Direct current uninterruptible power supply with AC power supply and related methods

A UPS system may include a DC UPS having first DC outputs coupled to a first switch and configured to provide a battery DC power signal or a first DC power signal to corresponding first loads, first load controllers each coupled between respective ones of the first DC outputs and the first switch, and a controller coupled to the first switch and a second switch, and the first load controllers. The controller may be configured to switch between a first mode where the first DC power signal is supplied to the first load controllers, and a second mode where the battery DC power signal is supplied to the first load controllers. The UPS system may include a cloud application server in communication with the DC UPS and configured to cause the controller to disable and enable the first load controllers.

A battery management system for batteries at a geographical location may include wireless battery chargers at the geographical location for charging the batteries and wireless battery monitors at the geographical location associated with the batteries. The battery management system may also include a battery management cloud server for communicating with the wireless battery chargers and the wireless battery monitors to remotely determine a configuration of, and remotely collect charging data from, the wireless battery chargers, and remotely determine a configuration of, and remotely collect diagnostic measurement data for, the batteries based upon the wireless battery monitors. The battery management cloud server may also remotely process the collected charging data and diagnostic measurement data based upon the determined configurations of the batteries and the battery chargers.

Battery management system and related methods

A battery management system for batteries at a geographical location may include wireless battery chargers at the geographical location for charging the batteries and wireless battery monitors at the geographical location and carried by associated ones of the batteries. The battery management system may also include a battery management cloud server for communicating with the wireless battery chargers and the wireless battery monitors to remotely collect battery charging status data from the wireless battery chargers based upon charging of the batteries and to remotely collect battery status data for the batteries from the wireless battery monitors. The battery management cloud server may also remotely process the battery and charger status data to schedule the batteries for use based upon the battery and charger status data.

Battery management system including cloud server to schedule batteries for use and related methods

A fleet management system for vehicles and batteries at a geographical location may include vehicle identification devices each associated with a corresponding vehicle at the geographical location. The system may also include wireless battery monitors at the geographical location associated with the batteries. Each of the wireless battery monitors may be configured to, when the associated battery is connected to a vehicle, during a discharge cycle, communicate with the vehicle identification device associated with the vehicle to collect a vehicle identifier associated with the vehicle identification device, and store battery activity records for the associated battery along with the vehicle identifier. The system may also include a fleet management cloud server configured to remotely collect the battery activity records and process the battery activity records to determine vehicle utilization for each vehicle based upon a corresponding vehicle identifier and battery utilization for each battery across the vehicles and batteries.

Fleet management system including cloud server for determining vehicle and battery utilization and related methods

A system for charging at least one battery may include a power and data communication bus including a plurality of AC and DC power lines and data communication lines, and a plurality of modular ports coupled thereto. Charging power modules and an inverter module(s) may be coupled to respective modular ports of the power and data communication bus. A central controller may be configured to communicate with the charging power modules and the inverter module(s) through the data communication lines, identify the charging power modules and the inverter module(s) coupled to the modular ports, along with respective functions and power ratings associated therewith, and selectively control the charging power modules and the inverter module(s) based upon their identified functions and power ratings to charge the at least one battery via the DC power lines and provide AC power back to the AC source.

Autonomous battery charging system and related methods

A system connected to an AC power grid having an AC phase signal includes an inverter module including a first inverter coupled to a DC voltage, actuated based on the AC phase signal. The first inverter provides a first voltage signal having predetermined harmonic components. A second inverter includes second switch elements coupled to the DC voltage and actuated by a second set of control signals phase delayed with respect to the first control signals. A transformer module has first and second primary windings coupled to the first and second inverters. The transformer module further includes a secondary winding coupled to first primary winding, the second primary winding, and the AC power grid. The secondary winding is configured to provide a secondary output voltage to the AC power grid by combining the first voltage signal and the second voltage signal such that the predetermined harmonic components are substantially cancelled.

Next, a status of the street light may be determined based on the determined amount of light. Then, a current status of the street light may be determined. The current status may be compared with the determined status. Based on the comparison, the current status of the street light may be altered.

A method for controlling a photovoltaic (PV) panel in a PV system including a computing device that provides motor control signals and implements an iterative adaptive control (IAC) algorithm for adjusting an angle of the PV panel. The IAC algorithm relates P at a current time k (P(k)), an elevation angle of the PV panel at k (&#x3b8;(k)), P after a next step (P(k+1)) and an elevation angle of the PV panel at k+1 (&#x3b8;(k+1)). The algorithm generates a perturbed power value P(k+1) to provide a power perturbation to P(k), and calculates &#x3b8;(k+1) using P(k+1). The motor control signals cause the motor to position the PV panel to achieve &#x3b8;(k+1). A change in P resulting from the positioning is compared to a predetermined change limit, and only if the change in P is &#x2267; the change limit, again sensing P, and repeating the generating, calculating and positioning.

Method of adaptive solar tracking using variable step size

A system controller for position controlling a photovoltaic (PV) panel in a PV system including a power sensor sensing output power (P), and a motor for positioning the PV panel. The system controller includes a computing device having memory that provides motor control signals and implements an iterative adaptive control (IAC) algorithm stored in the memory for adjusting an angle of the PV panel. The IAC algorithm includes an iterative relation that relates P at current time k (P(k)), its elevation angle at k (&#x3b8;(k)), P after a next step (P(k+1)) and its elevation angle at k+1 (&#x3b8;(k+1)). The IAC algorithm generates a perturbed power value P(k+1) to provide a power perturbation to P(k), and calculates a position angle &#x3b8;(k+1) of the PV panel using the perturbed power value. The motor control signals from the computing device cause the motor to position the PV panel to achieve &#x3b8;(k+1).
