Provided is a liquid container attachable to a printing apparatus and configured to contain a liquid to be supplied to the printing apparatus, including: a container chamber configured to contain the liquid; a supply unit provided on a tip end side in a direction of attachment to be attached to the printing apparatus and configured to connect the container chamber to the printing apparatus; and a liquid holding unit provided to an inner peripheral surface of the supply unit and capable of holding the liquid by using a capillary force, the liquid leaking out in a case of attaching and detaching the liquid container to and from the printing apparatus, in which a length of the liquid holding unit in the direction of attachment of the liquid container is larger than a length of the liquid holding unit in a direction intersecting with the direction of attachment.

A liquid storage container attachable to and detachable from a recording apparatus includes: a liquid storage bag that includes a supply port for supplying liquid to a port to be supplied of the recording apparatus and is configured to store liquid; an opening and closing body movable between an open position that allows liquid to be supplied from the supply port to the port to be supplied and a closed position that closes the supply port; a handle configured to move the opening and closing body between the open position and the closed position; and a lock mechanism configured to lock the opening and closing body in the closed position so as to permit the opening and closing body to move to the open position only when the liquid storage container is in an attached state in which the liquid storage container is attached to the recording apparatus.

Liquid storage container and recording apparatus

Provided is a technique in which liquid leaking in attachment and detachment of a liquid storage container to and from a printing apparatus can be retained with a simple, space-saving configuration. The liquid storage container can be attached to the printing apparatus. The liquid storage container includes a storage portion that stores the liquid, a supply port that supplies the liquid stored in the storage portion to the printing apparatus, and a liquid retaining portion that is capable of retaining the liquid leaking in the attachment and detachment of the liquid storage container to and from the printing apparatus by using capillary force. The liquid retaining portion extends along an outer peripheral surface of the supply port, in an attachment direction in which the liquid storage container is attached to the printing apparatus.

Liquid storage container and printing apparatus

A liquid ejection head includes an ejection-port formed member including liquid ejection ports, a substrate including liquid supply ports for supplying liquid to the ejection ports and a partition between the liquid supply ports, and a substrate supporting member. The liquid supply ports extend along the longitudinal direction of the substrate when viewed from a position facing the main surface of the substrate. The liquid supply ports are arrayed along the lateral direction of the substrate when viewed from the position facing the main surface. The partition includes a non-contact portion that is not in contact with the supporting member and a contact portion that is in contact with the supporting member. Of the liquid supply ports, adjacent liquid supply ports communicate with each other in the lateral direction through a gap between the non-contact portion and the supporting member, and liquid flows through the gap.

Liquid ejection head

A liquid discharge head includes a wiring portion; a print element board including an element for applying discharge energy to liquid; and an electric wiring board including a connecting portion connected to the wiring portion and electrically connecting the wiring portion and the print element board. The connecting portion is provided with a cut portion at a position between both end portions in a width direction of the connecting portion, and a length of the cut portion in the width direction is shorter than a length of the cut portion in a direction orthogonal to the width direction.

Liquid discharge head and method of manufacturing the same

A method for producing a liquid discharging head includes an element substrate provided with a discharge opening for discharging a liquid and a supporting member that supports the element substrate, the element substrate having a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, the supporting member having a height reference surface and an element-substrate bonding surface to which the first surface is bonded with an adhesive. The method includes the steps of measuring a height h of the element-substrate bonding surface from the height reference surface; applying the adhesive to the element-substrate bonding surface; and causing the first surface to oppose the element-substrate bonding surface with the adhesive being provided therebetween, and disposing the second surface at a predetermined height m from the measured height h to harden the adhesive at a portion between the element-substrate bonding surface and the element substrate.

To suitably electrically interconnect a recording element substrate, on which power supply paths are formed in a high density, and an electric wiring substrate, on which wiring lines for supplying power to these paths are formed, bumps are formed and arranged on the recording element substrate at a predetermined pitch therebetween so as to protrude by a predetermined distance t1 from this substrate. On the electric wiring substrate, on the other hand, connecting terminals are formed and arranged with the same pitch as that of the bumps. Between each two of the bumps is formed an insulating film which protrudes in the protrusion direction of the bumps by a predetermined distance t2, where t1<t2. By fitting the connecting terminals between respective pairs of the insulating films, each connecting terminal comes in contact with a corresponding bump with a sufficient contact area provided therebetween so as not to give rise to short-circuiting or open-circuiting.
